iPhone 3.0 – expect preview on March 17
What you say? Palm Pre will kill the two-years old iPhone? Apple won’t give up! Engadget claims that the Cupertino company will make a preview (remember how they announced the first iPhone?) of the iPhone 3.0 software on March 17, 2009, after 5 days. Expect more info then and developers, get ready as the probably Apple will release something to you, so there will be new (or updated apps) ones the 3.0 software is ready, sometime in the future.

Oh boy, we cannot wait! Any guess what will be new?

I wouldn't hold your breath but it would be a LONG overdue addition.

wow. apple needs to chill out. seriously. they already have two amazing phones, there UI is friendly, and the iPhone looks good. I think it is time that someone has to dethrone the iPhone now.

I agree. The iPhone has succeeded in its uniqueness and its time for new and better stuff.

So apple shouldn't try to come up with a better phone because they've been on top or one of the best for a long time? That doesn't make any sense. I guess Michael Phelps shouldn't attend the next olympics because he has succeeded for a long time and so someone else can be the best. Yeah don't think so. It kind of sounds like you guys are bitter. I feel that the palm pre should have just came out quietly because now apple is going to try hard to beat it. I'm not saying that Apple is going to be one of the best forever. I just think it's really ridiculous how you guys think Apple should just stop so someone else can surpass them.

I am interested in seeing what this update will be, but judging from their history so far to date with their devices, it will probably not be MMS messaging and probably wont help out with the amount of dropped calls people complain about , but maybe it will offer people more options in customizing the home screen and using 3rd party non-apple sponsored apps on their device without having to jail break your device. Maybe it will offer multiple browsers .... You know, maybe it can be more like the Storm. LOL.

Good call Godfather! I love my Storm. Couldn't ask for a better phone. I just need to score a pair of stereo bluetooth headphones and I'll be complete...yet ANOTHER shortcoming of the iphone.

Why on Earth would anyone want a different browser than Safari? It is Hands Down the absolute best mobile browser in existence. I am being very serious and not facetious at all about asking this.

Ha....the storm fails so much compaired to the iPhone. I sell the storm for VZW and trust me, I perfer the iPhone over that pile of junk. It takes FOREVERto load any screen on the storm......

Yeah, not impressed with the device at all either, but I guess it all comes to preference. This is why we have "selection" and "competition". I am seriously under the impression that people one here (and I am not referring to you, trent) don't consider competition and selection at all...
