iPad Mini 5, AirPower, and new AirPods to arrive by early 2019: Kuo

iPhone season is officially over but that doesn’t mean Apple is done for the year. On October 30, the company is expected to announce a new range of iPad Pro models. But according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Silicon Valley giant also has a few more products up its sleeves that will launch at a later date.

Kicking things off with the company’s accessories, Kuo believes that Apple’s controversial AirPower charging pad will finally launch during the fourth quarter of 2018 or the first three months of 2019. During this same period, the analyst also sees Apple releasing a pair of updated AirPods.

Recently, most reports have suggested that Apple has no further plans for the iPad Mini line. According to Kuo’s latest research note, though, the company is indeed working on a fifth-generation model and it could be unveiled at the company’s annual spring event in March. However, as this is not a Pro model, the same design is expected to be maintained. Instead, the refresh will focus mainly on a more powerful processor – the current model uses the Apple A8 chip.

As mentioned above, Apple is expected to announce a range of redesigned iPad Pro models next week that will be sold in 11-inch and 12.9-inch variants. These are also set to be joined by a new Apple Pencil. At the moment, it’s unclear what kind of improvements it will bring or if the new stylus will be compatible with previous iPads, but fingers crossed Apple has figured out a more intuitive way to charge the accessory.
