Massively successful, cross-platform, battle royale game Fortnite has crossed yet another important milestone on iOS, and in a surprisingly short time. According to the latest report mobile app intelligence company Sensor Tower, Epic Games' ultra-successful title has managed to rake in over $100 million in revenue during its first 90 days of availability on Apple's App Store.

Fortnite has now become the second-fastest app to reach the coveted $100 million milestone in its category, being second only to Clash Royale, which managed to cross the $100 million mark in a mere 51 days, according to Sensor Tower.

What's more interesting, perhaps, is the fact that the iOS version of Fortnite was invite-only initially. Who knows how much it could have made, had it not been for those two-or-so months of invite-only exclusivity? A lot more, we're betting.

Sensor Tower's recent report reads:

"Clash Royale managed the fastest time from launch to the $100 million milestone on iOS, accomplishing the feat in just 51 days. Fortnite, however, reached this point nearly three months faster than Knives Out and Honor of Kings, at 173 and 179 days, respectively."

Fortnite’s biggest rival on mobile, and in general, is PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds, better known as PUBG. It launched on iOS a few days after Fortnite, but it is yet to hit the $100 million mark. In fact, according to the report, PUBG has managed to bring in around $5.2 million in its 60 days of monetization.

This reflects a broader trend, as PUBG has been waning to popularity and losing a sizable chunk of its player base to Fortnite, which too has been losing some traction in recent weeks.
