Removing animations through Developer Options is the first thing I do when firing up a new Android device.

About time. I hope they sped up the unlock animation. The icons coming back in drove me nuts to wait for.

Wow! A whole .1 milliseconds faster, how could you cope with how slow it was before?

.1 milliseconds for one animation. But when quickly and closing this accumulates to several seconds. And when working and having to call and send mails, this is cumbersome. Happily, I am on Android and I removed ALL existing animations in the ENTIRE OS in developer options.

i dont notice a difference. Why so hostile? Are you a child or butthurt for some reason? Just putting in my opinion on an OS that i use daily.

That's actually the only difference I dont notice, when you unlock your device to the home screen, that feels the same speed. But if you locked your device while in a app, and than unlock the device and it opens back to the app where you left off before locking the device, this feels faster

To who are you responding ? Because actually my comment is saying the same thing as yours. In general I always hate animations, its good for eye candie for the average Joe or the Instagram h** but when doing serious work it is very limiting.

Yeah, but the thing is we don't need your opinion, it's worthless.....

Animations are pointless for OS navigation. It's just for looks. Both Android and iOS benefit greatly from the animations being disabled. I'd say his opinion is valid.

Why don't you just turn off the animations?

True! 10.3 is actually quite faster on my iPhone 7 than before.

Apple updated the OS without the users consent? Now that screams for a lawsuit.

It's on settings - you can set the phone to be updated automatically while you're asleep, and only while the phone is plugged in and connected to wifi. All my devices are set up that way including most apps (not all apps, sometimes I like to see what the changes are before updating certain apps).

Mine is.

Same. It also actually feels even more responsive in 64 bit apps, like the touch latency feels even better now, it responds quicker/feels a tad bit more responsive to your touch in apps from App store. Idk if you noticed that but I do. A solid update

I think Apple delivered a very good update. The 7 betas seem to be worth the wait.

Facts, Apple updated a couple hundred million file systems yesterday alone without even telling users in the standard release info that pops up. And it went just fine. That's the kind of seamlessness Apple is known for. And that does take a little courage lol

That's what I always try to tell people that crap on iOS updates - virtually 90% of iOS devices WORLDWIDE are updated in extremely short time, usually 50% exposure within couple weeks - that's way too many different apps, settings, and habits, carrier combinations. I would love to see at least one device on android to see this kind of exposure instantly. What I've noticed is that even if there are a stutter issue or two after an update - it's a little after a few apps are updated that these problems go away. Developers are just not ready for that kind of adoption speed.

All 3 out of 5 of our iOS devices are updated: My 6s, wife's 6s, my second driver 5s (still love that phone), and our remote camera iPhone 5 is in remote location - I'll update that when I get a hold of it. The iPad 3 (2012) did not get the update - its only 5 year old and Apple already dropped update suppprt for it - I'm so upset.

This is exactly the reason iPhones are the best choice for smartphones. Secure, optimized and future proof. No carriers issue and great customer service.

Our devices break less so they dont need as many updates. specially since they are slow. Apple needs to rush because when their devices need an update they have only one option for a fix. Android has lots of options. An iPhone with 10 updates will still do less than a 5 year old Android with ZERO UPDATES! Proven fact. When was the S3 lat updated. Yet it has features iPhones don't have like splitview. Can still transfer any file type over BT and Wifi Direct. Open file system. More storage. Mass Storage and more.
