YouTube Go is out of beta and available for download in the Google Play Store

Google has been working on a lightweight version of its YouTube app for mobile devices for quite a long time. However, the so-called YouTube Go was available in beta form and those interested could test it out while helping Google make a better app out of it.

Today, the final version of YouTube Go was published in the Google Play Store so that everyone can give it a go. There's a catch though, as the app doesn't seem to be available in all territories, which isn't surprising since the reason of its existence is to give users in select countries the option to save data when using YouTube.

YouTube Go allows users to download videos and store them on their phone's memory or SD card for later view. These videos can also be shared with nearby friends via Bluetooth.

It's also worth mentioning that Google built the app so that it would work on devices running Android 4.1 Jellybean and newer. If you live in India and Indonesia, you can already download YouTube Go, but we expect Google to make it available a lot more countries in the coming weeks.
