You can now use “Find my phone” voice command with Google Home

Google Home is one of the most popular speakers on the market offers quite a few Google Home skills. Starting this week, Google Home owners will be able to use one more voice command: “Find my phone.”

Google enabled the new voice command earlier today, so Home users should be able to test it very soon. “Where's my phone” or “find/ring my phone” are the commands one must use in order for Google Home to pin their smartphones.

But the new feature is a little bit more complex than that, as Google Home can also turn up the volume on the smartphone, which means it will ring up even if it's switched to silent mode.

It appears that the command will also use voice ID to make sure that it rings the right smartphone, which is especially useful if you have more than one around the house.

For the time being, the ring on silenced phones will only work on Android devices, while iPhones can only be found via phone call. Moreover, it doesn't work on tablets, so you'll only be able to find your phone (hence the name). The good news is that it's compatible with Google Home, Home Mini, and Home Max.
