Xiaomi does it again – 15,000 Mi 3 units sold out in 2 seconds in India

0. phoneArena posted on 05 Aug 2014, 08:55

Xiaomi continues to fuel both rage and hunger amongst those users in India who are eager to purchase a Mi 3 handset. Today, a batch of 15,000 phones was made available for sale on Flipkart and was gone in 2 seconds. A lot of users claim that it was so fast that they couldn't even see the phone enter their shopping cart when they clicked on it – it just immediately went out of stock.

Credebilty is something that a company should earned . I think this is just getting exaggerated , all this sale that they're advertising. But if it's true then congratulations xiaomi .

All new business strategy in online retailing. MAKE NEWS, CREATE HYPE, GROW SALES and become THE TOP SELLING COMPANY.

Flipkart and Xiaomi opened the registration process for mi3 sale almost 5 days back. It actually took 5 days to sellout the phone. It took 2 second just to alot the phone to random registered buyers. If they have used more powerful servers then the news could have been like "15,000 Mi 3 units sold out in 0.02 seconds in India"

If they ever come to the US market I wonder how that hunger strategy would sit with customers. It mah just piss them off and they'll just move to another phone.

They just suck. I have tried to buy it from the past three times and the very recent time I was logged into Flipkart.com an hour before and had the page ready a few seconds before. Right after 2PM IST it appeared Sold out.
This is total fake and this is a cheap trading method to gather some news. FTB flipkart and Xiaomi.

I didn't get my phone first attempt too. However i do get the phone every round since then. There are Tips. First one is don't use IE. Use chrome or firefox.

Second make sure you have make purchase thru paypal account before. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to pay even you manage to add to cart.

Google for how to buy XiaoMi. Its funny but true.

I don't believe it......considering the average internet speed of India, i.e 2 Mbps, and the time to put items on the cart and then selecting the address and billing info, it is VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE to even buy all the units at once in 2 seconds.

Indians can actually try this on any other items themselves.... YOU SIMPLY CAN'T DO IT!

Its considered sold when one adds it to his cart. So yes its possible!

Billing and shipping info need not be keyed ineverytime. It is saved in profile.

I don't think selling 15.000 unit's in India who has 1.3 billion people isn't something difficult...
Give us a break with those stupid numbers all the time.

I got lucky twice in the last 3 outings. The key is to click on that buy button the instant it appears on the screen after countdown. Best use a Broadband connecting rather than some wireless internet connection.
Once it come in the cart, you can then easily pay for it and it is yours.

Also, Xiaomi Phones are allowed to be rooted without voiding the warranty? What other feature can be cooler than that?
