Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite gets certified, display notch revealed
Xiaomi is already expected to launch a successor to last year’s Mi A1 within the next few months. However, according to two new certification listings corresponding to Singapore's regulatory agency and China's TENAA, it appears the Mi A2 may be accompanied by a cheaper model, dubbed the Mi A2 Lite.

Starting with the Singapore listing, the posting fails to mention any specific hardware details about the smartphone. Instead, it simply limits itself to revealing the model number and marketing name, the latter of which being Mi A2 Lite. Nevertheless, this exact model number is used in a recent TENAA listing, revealing various hardware specifications as well as the smartphone’s design.

Starting on the inside of the device, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 seen in last year’s Mi A1 is apparently making a return alongside the choice of 2GB, 3GB, or 4GB of RAM, which will be coupled with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of internal storage respectively. In terms of the overall design, a large 19:9 display panel complete with a notch and rather thick bezels adorns the front panel, while the rear metal build boasts a vertical dual-camera setup.

At this point in time, it’s unclear when Xiaomi will choose to unveil the Mi A2 range, but considering the company appears to be running ahead of schedule, and the fact that last year’s Mi A1 Android One device made an official appearance in September, a July announcement for the Mi A2 series seems highly likely.
