Woz says Apple employees pledged to ‘never, ever work for Steve Jobs again’

Steve Wozniak, or simply Woz, the engineer who co-founded Apple and was at the very core of the first Apple computers, is a person who is no less instrumental to the early establishment…

Apple is arrogant towards its customers ? At least they give the Aluminum and not cheap plastic. Not to mention that Apple has the best after-sale support in the industry

The aluminum that comes with dents and scuffs? Or the one that comes with poor reception? But yeah, while we are at it, let's thank Pepsi, Coke, RedBull for those precious aluminum cans they GIVE us when we buy their products.

I still love who the glass bottle of Coke feels in my hand when I was a kid... That's the best material design right there. Back on to the point, just because they use aluminum body doesn't mean anything. Don't forget they are not the first one to use it. Beside, Apple only provides good consumer service if you buy the Apple Care. Too many people I know that didn't get anything resolved because they didn't purchase Apple care when they got their iPhone5/5S

I call BS on this. I have never owed Apple Care and they have replaced an iPad for me. Not to mention a full restore and back up for my Mac when I deleted some system files, I should have never touched, and bricked it. All free of charge. And my Mac was 3 years old and wouldn't have been covered under apple care anyway.

I don't have any Apple product so I can't say anything from my personal experience. However, one of my buddy has an iPhone 5 for 1.5 years now and it might have battery problem. It will drain extremely quick for a normal use. Before the 1 year warranty was up, he contacted Apple, and since there is no way to proof the phone has a bad battery they wouldn't do a replacement. Also, told him he should have gotten the Apple Care. It could have been just the person who he talked to was a di-ck. Who knows.

I go for what's packed inside a smart phone and not how it looks outside. Besides most people I see running around with iPhones will put a case around it anyway. I guess that's why I go with Android because at the end of the day I can do more things with it, then I could ever dream of doing with an iPhone.

Higher end plastic is more expensive than aluminum :) There is nothing premium about aluminum at all, its cheap and its plentiful. Its durability is also poor.

the problem comes that the galaxies are not high end plastic that outperforms aluminum....

Drop tests says otherwise. Try to check the S5 durability and drop test videos online before commenting next time

Sure....just watched the video. S5 on side didn't crack screen but at the same time they were 'dropped' so exact angle etc is hard to compare. However, where the 5s cracked the screen on the side, the case, that aluminum fared really well, no dents. The s5 however, not so much, nice hard dent on that corner. On front face, both cracked the screen. All from shoulder height. I could show my 925 fall from 4ft out of a truck and show the aluminum corner but nothing else damaged, or the note 3's fall from a 2ft drop out of a m5 getting out of the car and cracking the screen. Point? there is almost no exact 100% method to 'drop' a phone. I could go out on a limb cause I highly doubt you have the chemical formula for the plastic used, nor the machine to stress test the plastic and put it up against the aluminum in the iPhone. So all opinions is simply a matter of 'if'. Did Samsung spend that much money on their plastic to make it more durable than aluminum? I would venture, probably not.

In your dreams. Milling and anodizing aluminum is much more expensive than any plastic used on a smartphone. Try again.

Apple respects its customers a lot and thats why it charges them freaking $100 for a 16gb memory upgrade. ?

You mean how Samsung charges their customers a MSRP of 649 for their 32gb device or 849 for their 64gb....giving you a upmark of 100$ per 16$? Oh wait its Samsung...not Apple right...so much respect...

This post was about apple. Why did you drag samsung into it? Oh.. maybe to get green thumbs from samsung haters? Bdw.. Samsung provides its users with a microsd slot thus repecting thier choices.! :)

I could care less about thumbs ups. This wasn't about apple charging people for 16gb was it? Or was your post for thumbs up from android? Same product that doesn't let you put 'all' apps just 'some' onto an sdcard. I love hearing people state that in a android store and I correct them showing them a phone with memory issues. I point them to the 635. I have nothing against Samsung, if you knew my device and appliance history. I still point people to them all day long and show them the benefits of an S5 over the 5s. But let me guess you know me right?

The guy I replied to was talking about apple respecting customers. Atleast you can put your music, pictures, videos and 'some' apps on sd card. You cant even do that with your iphone. I have nothing against apple, infact right now I am considering exchanging my note 2 for an iphone 5s.

You also to forget to mention his arrogant words against FLASH and in the courtroom. If WOZ was CEO and add a SD card in iPhone I wouldn't mine buying one, he's the other brain behind apple. Yet they hire lousy Tim cook instead of WOZ.

Arrogant words against Flash? Which part? Please expand. Currently Flash is not mobile friendly and is the reason they cut support for mobile platforms. The h.264 hardware decoding is over 2 times more efficient than software decoding flash. Not only that by 'adopting' a flash standard, you still have to rewrite mouse over from flash, might as well use more modern technologies as html5 css and javascript vs a closed code like flash. Closed meaning it is solely controlled by Adobe. I am glad Apple, Android and MS have moved on to html5

Thanks for the link, though it explains nothing about his arrogance about flash. Tech wise it still stands as a good choice. HTML5 is the new standard, so much so people around here banter IE about its hmtl5 being behind in standards matching. Adobe flash software wise is less efficient than hardware chip decoding. 2x more less efficient. In the end Adobe did not meet the needs, this is not arrogant this is truth reality. Do you want 5hrs of video or 10hrs? etc etc.

Steve Jobs was a dictator and arrogant!

I'm sorry to tell you that you are arrogant. Without Steve Jobs and the original iPhone. My Note 3 and your smartphone what ever it is won't be this good. Stop this bias. Who are you sir to judge Steve Jobs ? Why in the world you would call him a dictator. Steve Jobs was a great innovator and entrepreneur and NO ONE in this world can deny that. Steve Jobs left the DING he talked about in this world and the proof is that many people knew about his death from a device he created !!

did you not even read the first paragraph?? he didn't innovate it was the engineers like Woz

Posts: 2817; Member since: Oct 03, 2012

Read his bio and you will know! It's my opinion, it did not like him he was arrogant. Sorry to tell you but you can't like everyone, i can give an opnion about everyone it does not mean that i have to be a great person........freedom of speech! But i guess some people are just blind, they think Apple is god! My Lumia's 1020 and 1520 are in fact better than iphones. Overpriced and way behind market specs.... and still people think that iphones are top notch.........but Apple marketing and lies are great so people buy it!

He wasn't an innovator, learn to read and pay attention. By the way are you aware of the fact that the iPhone slowed down progress in many areas of mobile when it arrived? The RF and camera departments for example took a hit, as manufacturers had to focus on recreating UIs, OS etc... You can't say for certain if the iPhone made a positive or negative impact, we already had touch screen smartphones with a huge variety of form factors, nowhere days we have nothing but slates. Quit defending him.

Touch Screens that were around for many years. But it was the iphone who brought it to everyone. Touchscreens were for nerds/geeks, they were not cool, most required a stylus, most were aimed at the business world and nothing more. Enter iPhone. Even android, your beloved savior of the world (from what it sounds like), didnt even have touch enabled OS when the iphone was revealed. They were FORCED to innovate touch capability much much faster than they had planned, some stated 2-4yrs. That would mean in 2011 you would have had the first touch droid if you take the extreme of that guess. It is not defending him, it is recognizing he was no tool to technology and how to build it. At age 14 he was understanding what Woz was doing at age 19 and their partnership began.

He inventing something doesnt change the fact that he was arrogant and thus not a well groomed alround personality.
