Windows Phone now accounts for over 10% of European sales, Android still dominant

0. phoneArena posted on 02 Dec 2013, 19:37

The view at the top of the mobile platform world isn't exactly the most exciting. Android has the lead and doesn't look to be giving up that position in the near future. The far more interesting action is happening on the lower end where Windows Phone is continuing its charge, especially in Europe where Microsoft's platform has taken over 10% of the recent smartphone sales...

If I am understanding your English correctly then it sounds like you think I'm trying to force WP on somebody... You are number 4, my friend.. Typical.. So sad.

take a chill pill man. You are actually contradicting yourself and not helping WP at all.

as i mentioned numerous time metro ui is very polarizing you either hate it or love. i am the former and kudos to nokia for bringing the hardware spec up to android level.

Regardless of the nut jobs posting already.
Good for WP, anything that eats Apple's Pie share, has my vote.

Still wouldn't buy a wp, but if take one over an apple dropping.

There's nothing wrong with not wanting a WP device. That's why we have options, and thanks god for those options.. But, we have some really childish folks on here who aren't mature enough to respect what others say they like, and get their feelings hurt when someone says something like "Windows Phone is awesome❕"" What's wrong with some of your boys❔

Couldn't agree more with your first line. As a WP user, I find myself trying to hide my face when reading that kind of polarizing garbage.

Well, that guilty shoe fits me at times too, today is one example, I loathe Apple.

I think WP guys get beat up, as MS has made some blundering moves with not only the os itself but has drawn some bad media from stupid antics.

This is leaving out the worst sin, forcing metro, and crippling the OS to power users.
When it can do, what wm could, it'll get me interest, until then, it's far from all that.

And like I said, that's fine as long as it's a respectful opinion.. I can accept that as long as it's not senseless bashing.. But, you gave credit where credit is due.. But you see how your boy is acting❔ Do you approve of that❔

If I may ask. Why do you loathe Apple so? Real reasons.

Sigh....

I promised myself... PROMISED... I would stop falling for the "troll bait" of those who just pick fights, but...

WP users still hear "no apps", even as the selstion is over 300,000 and WP had it's best month ever in app development.

WP users still hear "low %.." which was heard when it was below 1%, then grew to 3%... then 5%... and now continues to grow to 10% in some portions of the world and is growing in every single solitary market.

WP users still hear "it is only because of the cheap WP's like the 520 it is growing", despite the fact that lower end devices are the vast, vast, VAST majority of Android devices sold and are why Android has such a huge market share (more power to Google: Android is a butt whupping OS and has earned it's spot atop the sales charts).

WP users still hear "no features", even as three updates that add features came out this calander year, there is a major one in the next 3 - 5 months, and I will put a six-pack of the beverage of your choice that says at least 2 more come out prior to 2015.

On top of which, MS will bring WP 8.1 to every handset in existence, are creating an amazing ecosystem across dozens of other platforms, are a lot more fun at parties and also just had all their top brass make a human chain to get a little girls kitten out of a redwood tree when the firemen were too scared of heights to do it.

What an inspiring brand.....

WP doesn't have a problem.. There's just something wrong with these guys who keep repeating the same thing negative about WP on every article... Oh wait.. I here another on coming to say something negative about you comment.. There he is⬇⬇... Anyways, these guys were probably picked on as kids, molested by their dads, or born crack babies.. IDK.. But, they're harder to get rid of than cockroaches.. And, just as ugly.. Lol❕

A lot of those same comments were slammed onto Android back in the day, all things take time. As long as WP continues to get better, good for the WP users. If you like WP, as long as it stays in operation, you'll have phones to purchase. In the end, that's what's really important, not meaningless rankings.

Once again you're all over a WP article because you love it, and you're insecure about Android.. When I see you on the next WP related article I'm gonna call you out if you say something negative.. You know you'll be there proving me right..

I couldn't agree more, PBXtech. I so understand that WP isn't for everybody. And if I needed to move to Android, I would be okay, simply because of the amazing amount of choices out there.

But so long as WP is being supported and improved, I am happy to stay on it. I am please with everything about it. I find it fun to play with, reorganize my tiles just for something fun to do, love the mobile office suite, and enjoy XBOX Music.

I am trying NOT to be a fan boy, honest....

That's cool, didn't take you for a fanboy like some on this article. I've often thought about WP and how the Office integration would save me a lot of work, so I keep an open mind about it myself. +1 to you for the honest comments.

iPhone : the user wanted an iPhone
WP : the user wanted a WP
Android : the user needed a phone.

It's pretty sad that 80% of the world "needs" a phone. 40 million "needed" a GS4, 30 million needed a Note, and that's just one OEM. 80% of the world, that's a lot of people who "need" data plans.

For what it's worth snow, it's good seeing you post. The thread needed some well-reasoned balance.

I would like to point out that, in my opinion, the amount of trolling against WP is far less nowadays. Not only do I feel that there is more positive sentiment out there for WP now, I also feel that those who are not fans of it are at least more understanding of it. There's far less regurgitation of talking (bashing) points from individuals that have no idea how it really works, and more actual criticism of its remaining deficiencies.

With that said, those who do remain to bait you and bash the WP operating system with indiscriminate remarks are probably going to be the extra dedicated remnants and, in all likelihood, not worth the effort.

Penny, great to see you too!! Notice you have knda slowed down posting as well, these days. Still kinda fun to be a WP right now. As MS keeps trying to get it on the same level as Android and iOS, the new goodies keep coming.

And overall, I agree with you. WP gets a fairly good shake on PA. Even the reviews are showing it some love, and that is a great sign!

Whats more amazing....is iOS losing marketshare almost everywhere except Japan. And WP taking market share iOS.

BB...is just a sad example of what settling, resting does to you. So far MS is recovering from not answering the iPhone fast enough. If I wasnt so heavily invested in the Android eco system....I would have a Lumia by now. Just left Verizon and doing the pre paid thing now.
