0. phoneArena posted on 23 Apr 2013, 02:33

A spy shot of what is dubbed the Acer Iconia W3 reveals a smallish 8" tab docked into a physical keyboard, with claimed 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 processor and 2GB of RAM, which seems to be the bare minimum for running Win 8 somewhat decently, yet offer ARM-like battery endurance...

Now if they offer a stylus as an accessory or possibly as a bundle, I think this would make an awesome tablet for board meetings, students in the classroom, etc. The question will be: is the price right?

Yes your right. Having a windows 8 in an 8" incher means trouble for Note 8.0 and Nexus with the right price(300$),
Include Office 360 in a bundle and whoala.. Tablets for Business and Enterprise Schools and offices :)

I dunno.. I have the acer w510 but I find it a little difficult working on it with a 10" screen size. I'm used to 15" screen sizes.

If this is $300 or even lesser with windows 8 (nor RT), then it's a deal. But i would want to wait a bit longer and see if Nokia comes up with anything. But im willing to spend a bit more for a 10 inch tablet. Something like the Acer W510 going for $500 while running full windows 8.

The Fanboys run the world market
Unfortunately Microsoft hasn't got any.
Even though this is a full computer PC, even though the price is good, even though windows pro beats both ios and android hands down and is not even a contest, even though the battery life is good this device won't sell.

By the way do all authors at phonearena have lost their minds or something?
How is possible Android to have made the 7 inch form factor popular?
Amazon and the kindle fire made the 7 inch form factor popular, android is a piece of software, you can not give props to the software for the hardware of the kindle devices

7"-9" is the great size for tablets in my idea . But I don't have a good experience with Intel Atom in my HP Slate 500. More power requires more battery. The i5 in the Surface pro makes it a powerhouse but it consumes more battery. let's hope upcoming tablets (Windows, Android,...) have great battery lives.

I'm working as a techinician in IT field, usually use CAD and things like Virtual Machine, virtualization.
And please don't miss my words, I use Galaxy Note 10.1 because it has great battery life (full day working), ability to view CADs just in case, phonecall feature. Android also has a good keyboard layout for my languages (Vietnamese).

Believe me, I'm a huge fan of Windows but Win RT tablets lack of apps while I couldn't afford NOT RT tablets.
Of course I type this reply on a Windows 8 Pro laptop in the end of a day :D

Will 1200x800 support snap view? why not just release an 8" device with a 1366x768 resolution screen?
