0. phoneArena posted on 29 Mar 2014, 13:38

Nokia is trying to prove that the Nokia X has plenty of popular apps available for the phone, which runs on a forked version of Android. So the Finnish handset manufacturer has produced a video that lists some of the apps that canbe downloaded on the phone. At the same time, the video is part of a promotion that could score you a free Nokia X...

I'd sell it if I won it and I'm a Nokia fan.

Pick your poison.

X Platform runs forked Android that is easily rootable or side-loadable with most apps.

Lumias run WP8 and come in numerous sizes with a multitude of specs.

You can still get the 808 Preview, which runs Symbian OS.

It really comes down to OS and if you can use (tolerate) Windows Phone, then you get the lion's share of what bells and whistles the phone has.

I have a Lumia 620 and it's nice because it is compact, has flash, a front camera, upgradeable memory, and a removable battery for a good price. My hope is it gets the 8.1 upgrade, but otherwise I love it. Nokia design and build is unsurpassed.

Currently the best devices are:

Nokia Lumia 1520 - Windows Phone 8/8.1
Nokia XL - Android 4.X.X

1520 is best WP device atm, but Nokia XL is not even close of best Android phone. It's a rubbish phone, it's cheap with good branding, that's everything what's good about it. Of course it has good value, but there are many other Androids which actually have even better value.
It's like this:
Best devices
Lumia 1520- Windows Phone
Flagships from Android OEMs- Android
iPhone 5S- iOS

I think he or she asked for the best "Nokia Phone" on each platform. Am I wrong?

Brilliant advertisement. Gets my attention, is a fun challenge to watch, still conveys the message. Who is their ad agency?

As a side note, in my country winning a competition like this would mean I'll be required to pay income tax because it has entailed a performance on my part (as opposed to luck like in a lottery).

Correction: the name of the phone is Microsoft X not Nokia X.

I use a Windows 8 smart phone but realize Android fans will only buy Nokia X phones in large numbers after they put back the data files in the Android open source OS that enable it to access and use Google Play store apps and Google services after Microsoft takes over the Nokia mobile assets it bought later this month which includes the 3 nokia x Phones MS
should make it so that Their X phones can access and use google apps and services but tell the MS X phones user they will loose their warranties on the MS x phones if they change the MS UI and remove certain MS tiles used on the MS X phones. Some Android fans wont like this but most could live with it and will buy the MS "X phones" especially the XL model
