Why I think $800 is too much for the Galaxy S7 edge

It wants to be the ultimate smartphone. But is it? After a week of using it, I can say there are things about it that make the Galaxy S7 edge appear markedly underperforming considering its hefty $800 price tag...

@PhoneArena. You lost my respect for being so negative and that's why I have enabled Ad-block so you won't get any ad revenue from me.

PA fan boy's pathetic, as you can Criticizing an almost perfect smartphone, with inclibles functions. for only 800 dollars. iPhone 6s plus brings nothing to the market is a large and without innovation paperweight. It costs 800 dollars and has no memory for decent price. Apple definitely makes it a check to you.

@Ray S, Now please write an article and tell us why the basic 16 gigs Iphone 6s plus is worth the $800, if you have the guts of course.

I am iPhone 6s user and I just bought s7 edge. I personally think price is justified if compared to launch price of iPhone here in India. I bought iPhone 6s 64gb for 72k and s7 edge for 53k. Though it's officially priced at 57k here. It's performing equally good if not better then iPhone. It's camera is better, though I still think touchscreen of iPhone is better. But I am very happy. Personally I don't agree with author of this article. I love playing wolf among us on vivid screen of s7 edge. It's just that iOS has more games.

I will not try to defend the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge as this article hits a couple of spots, right but even then this feels like an Apple Fanboy's perspective or a generally biased opinion, either Apple Fan or Samsung Hater, I am not sure which. I agree that there are a lot of amazing devices out there which sell within the $400-600 bracket but similarly so are a few devices that sell above the $600 mark, and while it may seem over priced, the Galaxy S7 Edge is the only device that can even begin to justify the high price tag. I personally own an S7 Edge so I can also give an insight. (I am not a Samsung Fanboy as I think Note 5 and S6 Edge + pricing was not justified. I passed on then. I also passed on the S6 and S6 Edge as they did not offer much. I also passed on the S5. So no Samsung Fan here.) There are a few areas on the S7 Edge that may warrant a premium price tag. 1. The blazing fast auto focus and exceptional low light camera. 2. Water resistance. 3. Expandable Storage. 4. Exceptional battery life. 5. According to almost all tech review sites, the S7 Edge is the most beautiful/premium looking phone on the planet, right now. But I feel design is highly personal preference. BTW. Apple iPhone 6S 16GB India Launch Price - INR 62000 - USD 927 Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge 32GB India Launch Price - INR 56900 - USD - USD 851 And we all know which phone has more features and utilities, while which phone has the fruit logo.

iampun33t, You nailed it with your comment. In addition, I see it this way, that this author is a Samsung hater because he has been paying big dollars for his phone from the fruit company for years, but never received the latest technologies for his money.

But he can't write similar article saying why iPhone 6s Plus is not worth it's price. Can he?

Why samsung have overpriced this phone is shocking,if the Lg G5 is a lot cheaper the Samsung will lose not gain people to there phones, think i will stick with my galaxy s6 edge plus instead that looks better i think and if Samsung overprice the Note 6 then it will bye bye Samsung

Congratulations on your click-bait article Ray S./PA, it's working line a champ. Any product is worth what the general consensus of consumers is willing to pay for it. Sure, it can be debated whether it's priced right, underpriced, or overpriced... But that's all subjective.

waiting for price drop, by holiday i can afford it, but now im still waiting, s7 is a beast men! almost complete package! gorgeus design, QHd, awsome camera, hate touchwiz though, i will replaced it with nova luncher and im in the total premium experience! coming from iphone 5s, bought it unlocked because i love the design of it, its my first smartphone paid premium because the design is gorgeus for me coming before from sony ericson which i forgot the model number which my sister gave it to me, before that i have a nokia 3310 which i have for almost 10years, my 5s is still fast but the screen is to small for me, im kinda addicted now in smartphone cause its satisfy my needs, dont open now my computer to watch youtube or other things, but the price of s7 is to much for me i just recently done with my payment on the 5s, now i want android experience, tired of ios which files on net cannot be downloaded even mp3 songs cannot be save unless you pay for it or you intall itunes which is time consuming.sure s7 edge is my next phone!!! haha!

After reading this article, only one thing came to my mind. It feels like that the author of this article has pains in hi bu**, because his stupid iPhone does not provide everything what people could get on a Galaxy S7 edge. My response to him is "go get a life iSheep".

first of all every individual has diffrent opinion but i have owned both apple devices and android as well but i have to say u get more bang for ur buck so i can say in the case of samsung s7 edge it is priced to the point u getting some of the features wgich r exclusive to samsung for example the heart rate sensor edge screen i know blackberry has it but samsung was the orignal inventor of edge screen it has highest screen ratio with less bezzless compare to the compition and the screen i think 70 to 80 percent like anoled that lcd due to its power efficiency and in this article has rtry to mention some flaws of the phone which he thinks is flaws but i think the only let down i c in the phone is the slippery design and it is a fingerprint magnet but guys who want to use such a device baked without cover rest i think samsung edge has the best camera , screen , battery life and beautifull looks compare to the other competion which think most of the people agrees

The Marshmallow version of Touchwiz is relatively new, so these minor bugs are quite expected... Touchwiz just lack software optimization at the moment so give it some time... This scenario isn't much unlike Blackberry Perv... Oops, I mean Pirv and Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL... Peace.

So basically no one can speak on their opinion or against Samsung because they must be die hard apple fans! This article is only speaking of an experience that he had with the phone and spoke on the results. The s7 is a good phone but has its flaws as any other phone does.

Judging objectively $800/800 euro for any phone is a lot of money. Even more so if it is an iPhone I would add. For that amount of money one can buy a more than decent spec laptop with which he/she can do a lot more things than what can anyone do with a phone. On the other hand, if you can't imagine your life without the latest and greatest phone every year then all you have to do is wait 12 months until the price falls to around $400/400 euro.

One of the most honest "reviews" I have ever seen. I would only add the fact that it has a pen-tile display.

Lol! What article is that? Nonsense article with nonsense reason. Apple iPhone 6s plus is even not worth the money. It is much much higher price than S7 Edge.

If someone wants to spend their own cash on a iphone 6s or Galaxy S7 who are we to say otherwise. All this fanboyism on this site is pretty pathetic. Who cares what another person does with their money. It's nobody's business but their own..

I think it's just priced right. Ray S just presented his exhibits of nitpicking.
