Why I think $800 is too much for the Galaxy S7 edge

It wants to be the ultimate smartphone. But is it? After a week of using it, I can say there are things about it that make the Galaxy S7 edge appear markedly underperforming considering its hefty $800 price tag...

See there's this thing called YouTube that shows performance gains of devices side by side.. Not sure if you heard of it and from every single video I've seen its not a huge jump in speed versus the nexus 6p. Also since when does one editor need to share his views on every device since he was sharing his thoughts on this particular device value versus price. Last time I checked HE was speaking solely on this device yet a large amount of insecure fanboys have to drag apple into the conversation just as they often do.

Actually, YOU sound like an insecure Nexus fanboy. Pot...meet..kettle. Once again, Apple and Nexus fanboys spend WAY too much time worrying about Samsung lol

Yes you got me! I'm very insecure yet all 12 pages of Android fans are completely ripping one guys opinion of if this exact phone is overpriced.. Geez get off Samsungs unmentionables for a minute.. Also I'm not really a nexus fan so much but a phone fan. If you know all the brands I buy you wouldn't be so narrow minded. 800 for this or any phone is stupid money spent and yes overpriced period. The nexus 6p is only an example.. What exactly does this phone do that is worthy of 400 extra dollars? Please enlighten me

I'm not insecure at all. In fact I was a die hard apple user in the past. I just find double standards amushing. This article was made to garner views, aka click bait and we fell for it.

While I can't blame the writer for expressing his feelings. I agree partly with what he said simply because no smartphone is prefect. And when you pay a high price you expect a seamless experience. Personally I only owned a single Samsung phone. I never buy flagships since midrange or discounted flagships offer good value and I flash ROMs for performance. I'm considering a Samsung phone or an AMOLED in specific cuz LCD is raping my eyes at night.

The guy who wrote this is either an idiot or means that no phone should cost 800. BTW there are many phones that are worth more then 650 let alone 600. In fact, most Flagships have a base price of 650

Touchwiz is enough reason to not buy Samsung. no, don't tell me to flash AOSP Roms that degrade camera quality by a lot. and no, it's not the theme.

Why would anybody tell you that? Touchwiz on the S7 Edge is very good, actually. I don't need to flash anything but my beautiful new phone! :)

I too have experienced stellar UI performance with the Marshmallow TouchWiz.

Coming from xperia ui, s7 and s7 edge ui are different from the touchwiz we knew before. The bloatwares can also be disabled and though it's not stock android, it sure is one damn fast touchwiz.

$910 without accessories when 6s plus was launched my country. And did I forgot to mention that it was the 16gb version? Up 'til now, 16gb version is still at $891. Now that's pure profit. http://www.widgetcity.com.ph/category/mobile-phones/manufacturer-warranty/apple-iphone-manufacturer-warranty/

It's way too much. I got S7E which cost me $900 and the only reason I got it was the $50 of games Gear VR headset and a year of netflix deal. And even after all that it's overpriced.

I will agree.. only if i saw the iphone 6s was $300 too much... wanted to see this from the iphone 5s.. then iphone 6 now iphone 6s ...iphonearena never cared to why? iphone6s 16gb costs $200 to build n it's priced $649.. Gs7 costs $255 to build and costs $779 sounds right to me. Atleast get your complaining right ducking iphonearena...

Not a Samsung fan, but these complains in the article does sound like minor software quibbles and might get fixed soon... Lumia 950 had similar problems upon its release but is now much more stable with the latest update... If anyone find these problems to bothering then there's always Nexus and Motorola's excellent pure edition phones... I'm an unbiased man, but this review does seems to be making some hints and nods at Apple! Just can't help myself...

I hope they get fixed. Because all the things said in the article are true.

Huh? Ray.S saying that brcause of those software-related issues, the S7 Edge is not worth $800? smh

I couldn't care less if it's software or not. My previous phone cost me $150. It was Sharp Aquos Crystal. It could do 80-90% of the things this phone can. I bought this phone for $900 expecting a huge improvement in all categories. Well, it's not. Once they fix all of the issues maybe it'll be worth it. But at this moment, it's not.

This seems like a bait article. Judging by the number of comments here I think this is a successful bait. I couldn't care less about purely subjective and some delusional points that this article mostly talks about. You shouldn't too. Very very few are true (and can be considered as fact).

@refillable This is a bait article, but not a really successful one, because most users here use adblockers, myself included.

Cool, I use adblock too... I like to embarrass idiotic iFans on BGR some time ago and I was always successful. I think it's quite fun for some time but it gets boring because it's not going to help me increase my logical capabilities, as it's too easy. Maybe you can try doing that too? I think you'll be interested.
