Why I think $800 is too much for the Galaxy S7 edge

It wants to be the ultimate smartphone. But is it? After a week of using it, I can say there are things about it that make the Galaxy S7 edge appear markedly underperforming considering its hefty $800 price tag...

Yeah that the worst point in the article. He wrote 3 paragraphs just to complain that he doesn't like the default setting of the weather app.

Maybe he prefers the weather widget that runs on the iphone's homescreen. I wonder what it's update interval is set to by default.

A lot of those complaints were software issues not hardware, which can be fixed in a future update.

The amount of butthurt Sammy-fans on the article is hilarious. S7 is great yes, but is it the perfect smartphone? NO.

92. willard12 unregistered

Do you have a perfect phone in mind that can be used for a reference? When arguing something isn't worth $800, then you have to compare it to what you think is worth $800, which the writer was completely afraid to do. Just because people apply logic to things doesn't make them "butthurt."

Hahahahaha 800 bucks is expensive for you!?!?!?! Try buying it in, for example, Croatia!!! It's 1,314$ over here so dont talk about how expensive it is to me when you have cheap US prices. I wish it was that cheap here!!!

While sony being a number one in android making profit USD26 per-device and samsung at the second place making USD23 per-device, apple reaching USD184 on each selling device prove that apple still the leading as the most overpricing device ever made.

OK so the only my thing I can agree with is $800 is pricey for a phone. But let's compare what 2 of the most popular phones get you for $800. For the St combo, you get a 5.5" 1440p display rated as the best display of any phone on the planet, the screen is one of the most accurate colorwise, it has one of the. Established screen to body ratios, it has wireless fast charging and fast charging, it supports Microsd which now I can buy 200GB forn $60, has great audio, and a camera that focuses faster than any in the world, it's IP68 certified against dust and water fornupnton5 meters for 30th mins, or basically forever in a sink, the front facing camera records 1440p too, takes the best lowlight camera in its class, it has a fast finger sensor, it has 2 power saving modes where one on a full charge will get you several days of usage, has default apps, mass stirsge, can transfer any file over BTW or wifi, and so much more all.for $800, oh and it has a dual curved screen that has some useful features though they are not ground breaking and so much more, Vs the iPhone 6S Plus with 64GB of stirsge but no edpansion, a 12MP camera that takes worse pictures then the previous model and who focus is slower than last year's Galaxy S6, it only has a dualcpu, terrible battery life, takes nearly 3 hours to charge from zero, a screen that looks washed out in sunlight, front facing camera only records 1080, yet it's 5MP, full HD display with force touch which has been implemented to do things that can be done equally as fast or faster by bother methods, a fast finger sensor, a small.battry considering it's size, an Oscar with terrible one handed mode, nonrealmpower saving mode, display with very cold color, camera is not good in low light, it's not IP certified against dust and water, though I have seen tests where it lasted fair long, but it's a gamble at best, Oscar is closed, you're forced to use Apple.chosen default apps, when you install apps you get mom warning as of what they access or if data charges could apply, the setting menu is a scrolling mess, to separate panels for toggles and notifications, run and OS that crashes more apps than all mobile operating system and version numbers combined And the OS doesn't even have any gimmicky baseless features, no advanced charging. Now neither are worth $800, but the S7 Edge is a whole lot closer to it. Especially when it's locks you in where at a point you can't get out with it costing you a lot of money or loss of money. Even though I can use it with a smartwatch, I get the option of it not being a ball and chain to my phone When holding either in hand, though the both feel premium, the iPhone is flat as Columbus though the world was, Vs sweet cool curve and a futuristic look. Power to run a VR visor, 360 degree camera and is going to be a start attraction at one of the best theme parks on the planet. Yes that all.cost money and is more justified Vs the iPhone. Can't wait to see the

Or how about rhetoric iPad which use tons tartrate $499. Now adding 2 speaker cutouts and a higher resolution counts as a $100.upgrade and split-screen is free...oh wait not on the iPad. Somehow it's worth another $100, with 16GB. Oh and it records 4K? Why? Whatbfool.os going rouse a tablet to record? Oh wait, the ones who might buy this iPad. Lol. A MacBook which every other OEM would cost less than $1000, Applemsells.for more than $1500. Mac Pro with a consumer grade CPU and GPU is worth $3000, but I can buy a similar system from Dell with Professional grade card, and Extreme or Xeon for equal or less. The IPad Pro is 800, and cost more than the Surface, which can do more and comes with a pen that doesn't need to stick out like a railroad crossing gate to charge and more. Yeah if PA doesn't write an equal Apple.artivle then we know this site is rubbish Prove my point, PA can't give Samsung credit even when the facts show they are miles ahead of everyone. Apple especially included.

If you hate this site so much why do you hang around writing essays on it so much? Just go to another one that shares your views.

Lol. you don't know how I feel In Canada right now. Somehow apple increased the price of the ipad pro 9.7inch by $250. It's $800 in Canada right now. I don't hate apple, but they're so fing expensive here in Canada for what they offer that it's sad.

Boy, Apple and Nexus fans are really coming for this phone. You know, call me crazy but I would MUCH rather hear from people who ACTUALLY paid $800 for the S7 Edge. What do they think? Because I can't remember the last time I've read a more bias, nitpicky piece of crap. Besides, many folks here aren't going to pay $800 for this phone, rather they will be leasing it for $399 dollars before moving on to their next phone. That said, despite the Edge not being perfect, I can't remember the last time I invested in a piece of hardware more worthy of it's price. The S7 Edge is simply amazing.

Yes I came I bought it I used it for a week and now it's with me but my primary sim is in Nexus 6p again. Cuz 6p feels faster or I should says quicker. S7 is amazing but I couldn't fell in love with it. Cuz camera on 6p is better for me. Speed performance yes bit less features

I paid for it in full amount. $960 including tax, skins and slim case accessories. I don't lease since I don't find it practical. I don't like to have that extra duty of monthly bills either.

Someone here sounds like Hilary when she bark like a dog. It's one dudes opinion. You know, they say opinions are like @ss holes. Everyone has one. So take a chill pill and enjoy your S7 Edge.

A major reason for the price bump on the edge models is for Samsung trying to recoup their investments they made into new factories and machinery needed to mold and shape the glass. The edge fab process is more expensive and is more prone to costly quality rejection mistakes if not done right. Also, the fact that the edge version is outselling the cheaper S7 regular variant really invalidates this article with the authors clear agenda. Many people do think it's worth its price tag

First of all, its' price is 740$. Second of all, the Iphone 6s+ 64 gigs costs nearly 900$ for the unlocked version in most countries excluding the US. Why not make an article about that for instance?

First thing first, a lot of you android fanboys are so insecure. This article says many times that it's his personal feeling. It's embarrassing to see all the crying... As a current nexus 6p user I absolutely agree that the return for your return for features / performance for a 800 device versus 500-600 is a hard sell.

96. willard12 unregistered

As a current nexus 6p user and not a 7 edge + user, I'm impressed with your ability to judge the device's performance. I think the point of the response from commenters on his personal opinion is that he doesn't seem so willing to share his personal opinion on the plethora of other devices and what he thinks their value is. Maybe I've missed it, but perhaps you can tell us what Ray S thinks about the price of the nexus 6p.
