hmmm... windows? I'm kind of liking it... its fresh and new and looks clean. iPad will be good of course. boring? thats an opinion, but everyone knows it will run well and do its job. I think its a tie for now. If Windows is cleaned up and polished and has the same smoothness and ease of use as the iPad, were looking at a serious competitor here because it has so many more features. Windows 8 > Android? We shall see :]

Windows 8 seems flashy. It looks "cool". But I don't like the set up. Too much moving around with the animated icons. That is probably a battery killer too. I must say it has some cool stuff but too much to customize and if you don't customize then you are stuck with ugly plain icon in conjunction with animated icons. The iPad is in your face everything right there. Just click and you are where you want to be. Apple keeps iOS 5 very classy I love it. Great post though.

so instead of being able to put your own spin on a device and make it truly yours, youd much rather have a carbon copy like every one else who owns the device? and, alas, its a big shocker when people poke fun at apple boys for not wanting to think for were givin a brain, youll be amazed at what can be accomplished when you use it....

I am still not using more or less of my brain by customizing. I am limited to customization that the developer predetermined.

So Park you are smarter because you can change the color of an icon? Get real. On my jailbroken iPad i can do 10x more "customization" than this windows device. And i can prove it. We both make youtube videos on customizing and lets see who wins.

It'd be hard to actually do that seeing as this OS hasn't been released yet buddy! More tough talk that can't be backed up....SMH

Battery consuming? WP7 has live tiles too and my WP7 device's battery life beats the iPhone's. In short, no, it doesn't consume much battery. And I can tell you one thing, even though it may require a more swiping for W8, the tiles display information. Thus, a bigger space is needed for the tiles and hence, more swiping. It's definitely better than swiping through pages and pages of 4x4 static icons/folders.

Windows 8 looks awesome, you cant even tell the difference to IOS5. Kudos to Microsoft for this awesomeness.

I love how the isheep can't just enjoy something new like Windows 8. No they have to whine and complain and defend Apple. Can't you idiots just enjoy something else for once? Compeititon is a good thing morons, it means your precious Apple has to improve their products and services. If there was no Android, No Windows Mobile, you would still be stuck on your iPhone 3G. Stop hating on competition and enjoy it for once. You guys don't have to be so damn brain washed to actually like something else for once.

What's even more interesting is the comparison is on 'beta', of sorts, OSes; I think even after the official iOS5, and future iterations of it, is released, it will not be able to match the final release of W8.

Definitely, since W8 is a full-desktop AND full-mobile OS. As long as MS gets them to mesh well together it should destroy the competition. I have this nagging doubt, however, that this is too good to be true... hope I'm wrong.

I had no intentions of getting a tablet until I saw what Win8 can do. Microsoft may have a game changer on their hands. Let's say Windows 8 is in it for a long time before Apple or Google put out a proper tablet OS. Microsoft plans to blend the phone, tablet and gaming experience. If they successfully blend the 3 I think my next phone after the prime or vigor is probably going to be a win phone and I'm already an xbox fanboy. I think it all hinges on the success of the tablet part and from what I see they are starting with a huge leap.

ios 5 is outdated and windows 8 is a fresh and smooth ui.just wait for the last component android ICS for tablet version and make a video to face off with each other! :)

How long before Apple can catch up and put a full OS on their tablet? Anyone have any ideas about pricing yet? Under $500 for a decent Win8 Tablet? These should be cheaper than iPads since there will be multiple manufacturers cranking them out and selling them all over the planet within months of each other.

they will also be using much stronger hardware than an ipad. The ability to dual run windows 7 and windows 8 needs desktop power.

The Samsung slates given out at Build were said to be $1099. The $1,349 version will include a 128GB drive, a stylus and both a docking station and keyboard

holey crap! well, i shouldn't be surprised considering the specs, but they do need to figure out how to lower their costs a bit or they will be a niche, no matter how great the tablet. not too many people go $1100 to drop on a tablet. Of course, by the time these specs come to market they should be hopefully a decent bit cheaper.

Yeah, probably much cheaper, especially if they drop the SSD. They really needed the SSD in the demo to splash those under 10 second boot times though

Remember, this doesn't only put the iPad under the gun, but Android tablets as well. Also, I wouldn't be surprised (this might just be wishful thinking) if this dramatically boosts Windows Phones as well. It's all about marketing, though.

Hey friends, lets thumb down these all iSheeps and spam them so they don't even try to create mess here. I feel they have forgotten their roots and even the existence of computers because of Microsoft. They are totally turned into zombies like Steve Jobs is himself now after using his iCrap.

iOS is so boring and outdated.

Again...I like it alot better on the tablet than the phone. IMO the Tiles just doesnt fit right on phones. I'm an Android fan, but I really think MS has an absolute home run with this on tablets. Might be a lil more de ja vue for Apple real soon... Apple worrying about Android...dont sleep on Microsoft and the tablet market.
