A tweet from the Wall Street Journal says that Microsoft is working on a seven inch tablet, presumably a Microsoft Surface model that would be 7 inches to compete with the low-priced 7 inch Android models and the 7.9 inch Apple iPad mini; with half the tablets shipped in Q4 being under 8 inches in size, Microsoft needed to respond...

Since the 7-inch Surface (aka Surface mini) will most likely be a RT edition, I predict it will be a sales fail. Just like the 'full size' Surface RT is a raging sales success.

MS needs to figure out how to get the X86 chipset into a 7 inch form factor with 5+ hour battery life. Now that would be truly innovative.

Not if they have it for a great price and they market it well. I thought the marketing for the Surface was great. The price is just way too high.

Microsoft fan but *rolls eyes at* "A source familiar with Microsoft's plans says that a 7 inch tablet wasn't even on the company's radar last year, but executives at the Redmond based firm realized that it had no response for the lower priced Android slates and for the iOS flavored Apple iPad mini..."

REALLY? It's what I've wanted since Win8 was announced!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please give me a good priced Win RT tablet @ 7". Take my money already!!
