0. phoneArena posted on 24 Aug 2011, 07:06

The Windows Phone 7 Marketplace has been growing at a steady pace with Microsoft investing heavily in wooing developers. And that seems to finally pay off as Redmond’s platform now is close to reaching…

I have almost everything I need in the Marketplace ... The only thing that is missing for me is TeamViewer ... the alternatives sucks ... =\ otherwise the apps are great :) with the improved scrolling and picture loading the apps look as they should :)

So, why all the thumbs down ?
I did not say anything hatefull or negative against WP7 !
Just said Belle has a nicer UI and more functions. The UI is subject to a persons taste, but that Belle has more functions is a fact.

I like your support and touting of alternate OSes like Bada and Symbian, but this is a thread on WP7...

this a W7 story about apps. You are touting other OS's and are going for features. Not to mention that you know that W7 Mango will ad better than 500 features, and than Bada and Belle or whatever will not have more features. Most of us know you had a bad experience with W7, and we all know you are mad at Nokia for dropping Symbian and Meego for W7. But, if you are going to come on the thread to post negatives about W7 you will get thumbs down. Gonna happen.

you said that the WP7 is uninteresting on a thread about it which is pretty negative. you compared nokia with WP7 putting down WP7 even more which sounds pretty hateful in my opinion.

@Peterlfromsweden...But shouldn't the Ovi store have more apps? After all, the Ovi store has been open since 2009! By the way, Ovi has about 50K apps, and WP is approaching 30K and it only took 10 months to do so. Not to mention, that the majority of the high profile, DESIREABLE apps are in WP Marketplace.

Still no Kindle app, Netflix, or any of the most desirable games are in the Ovi store.

This is further proof that WP7 is steadily going to be bigger & bigger. 30,000 apps in a shorter time than Android & on par with the App Store means there is validity on the OS as a whole. Developers ARE embracing it. WP7 is ONLY going to get better when the Mango update is finally official! Just think that in a couple of months, the BIG BOYS will be releasing AWESOME phones, like the HTC Omega, the Samsung Galaxy S II phone, & the Nokia phones. Windows Phone 7 is extremely compelling to me ESPECIALLY if I were to have one of those top-tier phones with the 500+ new features Mango update with an extensive 30,000+ app market. You just can't go wrong. I have said it once & I will say it again, WP7 will be BIG in 2012! You can BET on that!

Nokia's Qt quick based Belle has a wonderful UI and its OVI store is really gaining momentum (9 mio downloads/day) given the recent inclusion of a huge army of Nokia S40 OS based devices. However, it won't take very long for the Microsoft/Nokia partnership to take the game to a whole new level and bring a serious third player into the battle of ecosystems. Glad to see Nokia managing the transition to WP while still standing by its loyal fans with a commitment to support symbian thru 2016.

I hope MS pulls it off, their obvious clout in technology is helping and they are being smart by giving great incentives to dev for their platform.

Lots of phones in the works...

I think it's either going to catch or stumble in 2012. MS HAS to capture at least 10% of the remaining 20% of marketshare. If it gets divided up by Apple and Google, it will almost spell doom for WP7.

I am rooting for it, I would much rather have a choice of 3, than 2.

Hang on a second here...
I really like bada and i still do, i have not forsaken bada at all !!!

Second, i also like Symbian belle. I think it looks really nice and a good update from Symbian Anna. Since i've used Nokia phones since the Nokia N91 in 2005 i still like Symbian as well.

So you'll definitely hear from me being positive about bada and commenting about bada, but i also like Symbian as well.

But just so you know, i like bada lot's better than Symbian belle, even though Symbian Belle comes in second place for me.
