Oh look, nothing on the Samsung Function. The amount of joy I am feeling is indescribable.

There's been rumors that Samsung is upgrading the phone and releasing it around the same time the iPhone 5.

That sounds like another entire phone though. Why would they do that and how does the S2 already not compete with the iDirt 5

Believe it or not, I'm excited for the Convoy 2. The first Convoy was one of the most reliable phones I ever sold.

It's good to see a new wave of feature phones. A little awkward when someone comes in to upgrade and their current phone is still being displayed (accolade). Curious to see what the Gelato will be. The vortex has been a great seller and even the samsung gem couldn't compete with it (entry level smartphones). Do you think the revere will be a replacement to the Octane or Accolade? My bet is that it's a "free" flipphone

i'm assuming that it will be a replacement of the Accolade. I think LG is going to stick with the Octane name for a group of phones like they did with the EnV line just because it's been so popular a model in the feature phone market.

Ok, so now the Bionic has a date (sort of), we know it will be pushed past the grandfather date (7/7/11 ?) for unlimited data. My question is: Can I add unlimited to my crappy feature phone just to be grandfathered in?

it needs to be a smart phone that. A smartphone has a 3g on it, feature phones don't so to answer your question no you can't, but to a smartphone you can. Just buy a smartphone off ebay or something for cheap 50.00 or so than you should be good, just do it before they change it which is next week..

yeah, the $50 will honestly pay for itself in the coming months.

My contract is expired so I'm on month-to-month. Could I change I buy a 3g phone and change my plan to unlimited data, then use my new-every-two discount and contract extension on a Droid Bionic, or would I have to renew my contract now and then pay full price for a Droid Bionic later?

If you bought a smart phone off ebay (or some other place that sells used phones), this should save you from burning your new-every-two discount.

But I would verify this with a Verizon rep at your local store. They usually want to help you -- especially if you tell them you're gonna come back in a few weeks to buy a new phone and contract from them.

yeah, you'll have to pay full retail for that bad boy, if you're feeling gutsy you could renew your contract and upgrade on the 6th and the Bionic might come out in the 15 day return limit and you can just return whatever smartphone you upgraded to, pay the restocking fee and get it traded for the Bionic but if it doesn't you'll just to have to pay full retail price for it and sell the smartphone you got.

If you take the smartphone off the account, the smartphone data comes off too. I'm in a similar dilemma because my agent line is paid for and I took my droid off my personal line. What I did, though, is used an ESN from someone who brought in their smashed droid (gave them $5 for the phone) so I'm grandfathered in. Make sure if you buy a phone off ebay or craigslist, since time is running out, that the ESN isn't on the lost/stolen list (obviously) and that it's not currently active on another line. The latter happens a lot and the customer has to get whoever had the phone to add a different phone to that number.

Bionic is a winner, and Droid 3 is a fun option for those unlikely to get LTE soon.I will at least pick up the Bold and play with it, more to see how BB did on their 1.2 G processor and web browser than any other reason, like to buy it. But, it kinda bums me out there is no word on the Galaxy 2 (like everyone else) or the Pre 3 (okay, this one may be just me). Both were serious contenders on my list.

I'm waiting on the SGS2, this device is the first device since the original Droid to get me so excited about a cell phone. Honestly, with all of these phones coming out at once, it's hard to decide which one to get and it's even harder to get excited for them. But to me personally, the SGS2 is the one that stands out the most. Very thin, large super amoled plus display, the fastest and most powerful dual core processor there is. I have watched hundreds of videos on it on youtube and every single reviewer agrees that it is lag free and very snappy. Even with heavy flash, the web browsing is super smooth. It's hard to beat that since even the EVO 3D and Sensation have lag. The Droid Bionic might just be the one to challenge the SGS2 but I honestly think the SGS2 will still out perform it.

I don't really care for high resolution and flashy looking UI. I just want a smart phone that doesnt lag and freeze up all the time.

Ready for the BB Bold 9930.....I may be the only one, but I am bored with iOS and tired of my Droid. Haven't had a BB in a WHILE, but I think I might give it another go. Specs sound halfway decent...here's hoping :)

I may be no Blackberry user - I'm Android all the way - but the 9930 piqued the heck out of my interest. Good for RIM, finally getting something like that out that isn't the Storm...
