0. phoneArena posted on 09 Feb 2013, 00:59

No one cares what Verizon thinks and could careless what they would suggest we should not use.

What about the carrier crapware? It is on the list too?

Verizon won't add their own bloatware and preinstalled apps to the list.

But, it is a fact that most of their garbage is eating away at battery life and data as well.

I highly doubt that, especially since they killed the auto update feature of My Verizon, so it consumes data only when you actually open it. CPU cycles well that is a different story as My VErizon doesn't do anything and if you have a JB phone you can actually disable any app on your phone including VZW preinstalled junk. With JB you really do have much more control than with the older versions of Android, next step is being able to have stock Android even on carrier subsidized phones.

So - what are we to do with some of these? The idea is for a device to NOT be a battery drain, data drain. The idea is to NOT have to worry about things like this. I shouldn't have to go into apps all FREAKING DAY LONG and shut things down.

And this would be why I miss my iPhone.

What phone are you using? If it has Jelly bean on it, you can disable any app you think is a bother or don't want using clock cycles. Android phones multitask like a PC that's the only reason why things will run in the background. Again all of it can be disabled by going to Apps and then Apps info and simple click of disable and you are done.

Droid Razr.

I shouldn't have to do all that work of monitoring and researching what apps are causing problems. That's my point. I'm not the type that goes digging into my apps in settings to see what's doing what - just to modify it. It should work without having to do that.

biggest battery drain = Plague Inc. I never seen a game drain a battery so fast on android and ios. Good game by the way just play with it charging.

Wow. This is great. I think the review of every app should include ratings on battery and data usage. This is very useful.
