Verizon-bound Galaxy Note 5 passes through benchmark, reveals Exynos 7420 and 4GB RAM

As we get closer to the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, so does the rate at which related leaks and intel intensify. We're no stranger to this phenomenon, and the closer we get to the big date, the meatier the leaks will get. Case in point: a tip was just sent in, drawing our attention to the existence of a recent Note 5 pass through the Geekbench test suite...

For 2015, yes, there won't be better phone than note 5. But this would change in year 2016. Note 4 (exynos) was beaten by just one phone S6 and now by Note 5.

When you say beaten what exactly you meant by that? is it Benchmark/Performance, Camera or what? only thing it beat was pixel density ;) I means display. else iPhone did well too in every department. when I read iPhone 6 benchmarks in GSMArena it was beating in most of benchmarks(yes that was Snapdragon)

Note 4 isn't beaten by GS6 in lots of specs. It is better to say that GS6 is beaten by Note 4 in every aspect except SoC.

Bullcrap, 14nm vs 20nm/28, 4GB of ddr4 ram vs 3GB of ddr3, faster storage, better optimised UI, improved design and overall efficiency of the hardware, bigger battery. People said the same thing when the note 4 came out. I see a major leap in comparison to note 4. Cpu is the same as in the s6, but it doesn't really matter cause it's still the best among android flagships. So what's with all the whining. Samsung did bring their A game. You get top quality hardware in this bad boy. Of course you won't see that much of a leap between note 4 and 5, but if you own a note 2/3, this is the phablet to go for.

As I said in exceptions die shrink which is 14 nm from 20 nm (I only considered exynos note), DDR4 is improvement over DDR3, yes I missed that. Bigger battery is not so great upgrade as note 4 had removable battery. I liked the design of note 4 (just my view). I newver said that it was minor improvement when note came out, I was much bigger improvemnt, in camera SOC (exynos). Yes it will be best but not remain best for next year, while note 4 (exynos) version is still a phablet to beat. Just note 5 can beat note 4 but by small margin. But this won't be case with note 5 I guess. Samsung could have gone for better GPU (T860).

Do you know the difference between Mali T860 and T760? No? Why then are you complaining?

These are minor differences and they are not worth the upgrade over the note 4. This Phone sounds more like the note 4 s.

You joking right, if you remove the spen and big screen the s6 make the note 4 look very slow, I have both, you 100% find the note 5 a big time upgrade, but only for a big screen and spen if going from the s6, if you s big screen fan and so on

Don't forget a much better fingerprint scanner. Seriously, the one on the Note 4 is barely passable. Also, you'll likely have the Loop Pay infused Samsung Pay.

SuperAMOLED is from Samsung Exynos 14nm chip is from Samsung UFS 2.0 is from Samsung The world's best phablet will be Note 5. There's nothing Samsung can't do, and Samsung owns the world of technology. You're doing right, Mr Shin. Our nation is so proud of you.

Note 4 scores almost that much, due to die (14nm from 20nm) shrink it can score like 20% more at best and will be a little more power efficient. I guess display would have minor upgrade. Only real upgrade is UFS 2.0 and 2 extra cores of T760. I was hoping for new T860/T880 and A72 cores, a camera upgrade (IMX230).

Are you sure that newerprocess node will improve Note 4 performance? Only for CPU and it would be a veryminor upfitdue to less throttling.

Maybe your nation yes, but I like what I'm hearing all the same...and this will effectively replace my iPhone 6 and iPad.

Sticking with my note 4 exynos. Which should have had 64 bit support by now, but oh well.

It will never have the 64 bit support that's for sure, which is a huge shame on sammy btw. I bet it won't even get the look of the latest touchwiz, which is another shame. Note 4 and Alpha users didn't even get the theme support with their lollipop updates, which was a truly disgusting move... Sammy's support sucks big time unfortunately. Imagine if we could have samsung flagship handsets with a support of an iProduct...

67. willard12 unregistered

When did iproducts start supporting their users with themes? You have to see the irony in asking Samsung to provide things that iproducts don't have while also praising the support for iproducts. And "the latest look", really? I'm sure you can find yourself a new launcher or wallpaper if changing the look is that serious for you. It's really nice for Apple to always be graded on a curve when some devices got siri, some didn't, one device will get multi window, the rest won't, etc etc.

I've seen a friend's Note 4 and it was definitely awesome( but personnaly I hate Touchwiz, it's one of the most uggliest UI's out there, and after that I was stupefied as I made a little spped test using his note 4 against an iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 was just crushed out). But I real don't understand how you get to manage so big dimensions on a phone, it's just inhuman. But I would surely have to manage with so big dimensions in future days. The Note 5 is surely going to be an outragous version of the word big when we talk about phablets so don't think I would get it. Updating from an iPhone 4 you can understand :'D.

Being 6'-5", I have fairly large hands so the Note series is a great phone for people like us. Also, the Note 4 has a 74.2% screen-to-body ratio versus the iPhone 6+ of 67.8%. I can almost guarantee you that the Note 5 will have an even better screen-to-body ratio than its predecessor . A co-worker of mine has the iPhone 6+ and with the bumper case she has on it, it looks like a mini tablet because of the massive bezels. the iPhone 6s+ will be exactly the same so Note 5 FTW!

Scores less than a Galaxy S6, not that impressive . Pre-release software I guess.

I think this will because it was being used before it, my s6 scores this when its been on for a long time and used big time, the best scores will be when its Been off for 15min and turned back on

Still not there with iPhone single core. Dang.

36. Shocky unregistered

Don't care what the iPhone scores, even if it was the best phone ever released which it's not, so long it uses iOS they would have to pay me money to use it.

Hm, Nope as it's just using 2 big cores of the same core tech, only going to happen when Samsung moves to the new core tech
