Verizon Galaxy S7/S7 edge units get new security update, here's what's new

A new update has started rolling out for Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge owners that purchased their device from Verizon. The software upgrade should bump the version of the 2016 flagship duo to G935VVRU4BQK4.

After installing the new software upgrade, users will receive the most recent (December) Android Security patch. Samsung hasn't always been too punctual with delivering timely security updates to its phones, so it's good to see the company taking steps to get back on course.

The update is available OTA, but it might need some time to reach all compatible devices. You can check for it manually by going to Settings > About Device > Software Updates.

As always, make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding with a patch of this size.

"You can check for it manually by going to Settings > About Device > Software Updates." Whelp, that would be great and all, had it actually been Google who'd take responsibility for the updates.

That applies to system updates from the carrier as well as Android updates from Google, so IDK what you're talking about there...
