Update to Skype for iOS brings free unlimited video messaging
Skype for iOS has been updated and the app now includes unlimited free video messaging. As if that wasn't enough, version 4.9 is now available from the Apple App Store, and includes stability improvements to video and audio calls, improved accessibility to video messaging, and a more reliable way to share pictures. The update also brings the usual assortment of bug fixes and what nots.

The iOS version of Skype requires users to be running iOS 5 or higher and offers free Skype to Skype phone calls and low cost calls to landlines or non Skype mobile devices. It might have slipped your mind, but we will remind you that in May 2011, Microsoft purchased Skype for $8.5 billion. Thankfully for those using an OS other than Windows Phone, Redmond has not been miserly with the updates.
