Update to Cortana's Live Tile adds new weather animation and information
Weather animation has always been a big favorite of smartphone users. Who could forget the fabulous windshield wipers animation employed by HTC that would appear whenever it was raining in your location. Today, the wipers might be out, but most weather apps do use some sort of animation to show a heavy downpour, a thunderstorm, heavy cloud coverage, sunshine and more.

Speaking of the weather, Cortana's Live Tile received an update today to make it a snap to grab a quick look at the weather. The Live Tile for the voice-activated virtual personal assistant will now show weather animation. The tile flips to reveal current weather information such as the temperature. It also shows a forecast for five days.

I had a feature like that on Windows Mobile 6. Pretty slick effect. Whenever it rains, the screen shows rain effect.
