Unlocked Moto Z2 Play hits new all-time low price in limited-time deal
With both the Moto Z3 and Z3 Play out now in the US (or at least coming soon to a single carrier near you), even hardcore fans of the Lenovo-owned company’s unique modular designs could be excused for forgetting last year’s Moto Z2 Play still exists.

But after being repeatedly discounted from its $500 list price to a significantly more reasonable $350 in recent months, the Snapdragon 626-powered 5.5-incher has finally dropped into bargain territory by reaching a new all-time low price of $300.

$299.99, to be exact, which buys you an unlocked Z2 Play variant packing 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage space with support for “all major US carriers”, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile included.

The deal is good through August 18 at 11:59 PM CDT on Motorola’s US e-store, having been discreetly kicked off this past Sunday, August 5, at 12:01 AM CDT. You can choose between Lunar Gray and Fine Gold color options, both of which feature an “ultra-slim aluminum unibody construction.” We’re talking an incredibly thin 6 mm phone with a 3.5 mm headphone jack in tow, as well as a “water-repellent nano coating”, which is technically not the same thing as a water-resistant design, lacking any type of IP certification.

Considering that wasp waist, the 5.5-inch Moto Z2 Play actually comes with a decent 3,000 mAh battery, which Motorola claims can go a “full day and beyond” without needing a recharge. An official Android Oreo update has started to roll out not long ago, and the handset obviously also supports the totally-not-dead Moto Mods ecosystem of snap-on accessories. Bottom line, this oldie has plenty going for it to justify a $300 purchase, even with fairly thick screen bezels and only one rear-facing camera.
