Overhyped articles again. Just stick to the app sources you know and you'll be fine. One click root doesn't work on Android 5 and above. Rooted devices usually have SuperSU which shows a popup if an app wants root access. Besides that, no need to buy a new phone, just install the recovery image, problem solved.
