It isn't so much of the wireless carriers moving to microUSB as it is the wireless device manufacturers are going green so to speak by adopting microUSB as a peripherial I/O. From a customer's perspective, this move will mean the money they save from having to purchase a new vehicle power charger and/or a wireless headset, they will be able to use those funds for memory cards, cases, face plates, screen protectors, etc. BTW, I'm hoping Brian, the "tipster" as Joshua Fruhlinger over at Engadget Mobile referred to him as, is disciplined for leaking what is Palm Treo 800w internal training for Sprint employee. IMHO, any Sprint employee who leaks confidential and proprietary internal information needs to be terminated for cause and prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law.

Even though its gonna run on Sprint's crappy network as you say..... Im pretty sure they don't need all the "advertising" cause to be honest Sprint is still on top of all the other carriers being so that they lost so many customers. That just tells you how bad all the other companies are doing, the only reason you hear so much on how bad sprint is doing is becuase they are the ones on top.

Sprint's on top? Of what? The Trash Heap? You don't lose over 800,000 customers in ONE quarter being the best Einstein. You don't lost over 30 billion dollars in ONE quarter and maintain your top status. If you really think Sprint is TOP DOG you are in the wrong dog show. At best, they are flea - bitten mutts thanks to their ( unsuccessful ) merger with iDen technology. Three CEOs over the course of 16 months does not bode well for stock holders of the company ... which saw Sprint take another 8.9 billion hit in Q1 of THIS year. As for comment #21, you might want to use a microscope the next time you view Sprint's coverage map. Over 70% of the network is roaming ... THAT'S why the have the same coverage as Verizon. Their "pure" PCS coverage is about as big as T-Mobile's entire voice network ... which is nothing to brag about at all . A few months ago, Sprint had to settle with VZW for over $400,000.00 because they did not pay their "roaming agreement" bill for the past eight months, and it was a lot less than what they ACTUALLY owed. Doesn't sound like a TOP company to ME. Not to mention that they totally revamped their so called Unlimited everything data plan to match competitors. That's right, they now have a 5 GB cap ..Just like Verizon...and what's worse is that the cap is a measley 300 MB in the roaming areas ... and since most of their network is roaming............. Wow, you guys need to bone up on your info before you assinine comments. Once again, if Sprint was really TOP DOG, customers would running TOWARDS them ... not the OTHER direction.

Let's see ... if I'm a company that lost over one million customers over the past year, have the highest churn in the industry, and the biggest net loss of ANY company ( and I mean ANY company ) in America, I would really SUCK!!!! But since you are a real Sprint Fan, you can designate yourself as the only nutcase who will standing in front of their headquarters screaming, "Sprint, I STILL LOVE YOU MAN!!!"

based on your analogy, then the USA sucks, and I should not be proud of been an American. How is that? well 70% of other countries hate the USA for one reason or another and that's well above one million. Just because some of the Customer Service reps did a horrible job it does not mean that the company sucks, their network is strong and their EVDO rocks, way faster than the stuff other carriers are using. BTW I a phone collector, and have active phones on Sprint, Verizon, T-mobile and AT&T, and I have experience similar issues with the customer care of all carriers, specially when it comes to billing. Also I have and will for ever be proud of been an American!

Are you retarded or just a plain bufoon? Where in that post did you see any comment bashing America? The comment reads, ".....the biggest net loss of ANY company in America." This is in comparison to other companies in the country. It's a direct remark about Sprint ... NOT AMERICA!!! My God... you just took that to some OTHER world didn't you? BTW, I ALSO have collected phones from ALL carriers, including the little Mom & Pop services and I have to say that Verizon is indeed the best of the bunch. I don't care about who has the best customer service because you get a** holes from EVERY company in the world. It's the network ... and I don't care who responds to this post but let's face it ... NUMBERS DON'T LIE!!!! Verizon is constantly the top cellco in America from every EXPERT and PROFESSIONAL magazine, media, news , etc. out there. THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE!!! Sprint lost a TON in revenue and customer base over the past 11 months. That's the truth, Ruth... whether you wanna believe it or not. As for being a "Proud American".... again, where the HELL did THAT come from?

It doesn't sound like you have "billing issues". It sounds like you have "responsibility and taking ownership issues". If a company is responsible for the reason you had the error, they should be more than happy to fix it. If you go over your minutes or text messages or do something else to cause yourself more money, that's your issue and next time call the company before your bill cycle ends so they can prevent the higher billing.

Why doesn't Sprint come out with smart phones that are picture mail compatible?

THE PROBLEM WITH SPRINT IS THAT THE TEAM THAT GIVE THE COMPANIES LIKE LG ,SAMSUNG PALM THE ORDER TO ADD ANY FEATURES ARE CHEEP. I WORK ON A RETAILER AND THERE WAS A MEETING WITH LG AND THATS WHAT THE GUY TOLM ME I ASKED" WHY THE VERSION ON THE LG PHONES ON VERIZON HAVE BETTER CAMERAS AND BETTER PROCESORS AND HE SAID THAT SPRINT HAVE A BUDGET ON WHAT TO ADD ON THEIR PHONES

I'm personally looking forward to this device. Sure, it might seem a bit "clunky", but it has all the features I would want in a Smartphone. Just made a switch over from Verizon to Sprint, and honestly, haven't noticed much of a difference in terms of the network. Customer Service, on the other hand, is quite a different issue, with Verizon clearly beating out Sprint in that area. Currently trying out the HTC Touch--neat little device, except that before this I had a Motorola Q9m, and I am seriously missing the keyboard. Fun little device though.

They need a large clock on the Today Screen. Please, somebody tell Palm to do this!!! It's the only real shortcoming of this phone. Big and clunky to some, solid and well performing to others. My 700wx died after much use and abuse my me, and I'm now using a Touch. It's an amazing device, but not really for the business user because of the keyboard. Typing in a contact name with a touch screen keyboard is much too cumbersome when you are multitasking and need a quick number. I'm very excited for this device.
