So 40 million of the new iPhone 8, and 40 million of the same recycled designed iPhone 6, for the 4th year again. At least they have the newer iPhone 8 this time.

Btw, if apple can indeed pull this off can we just safely say every android oem will now scramble to remove their own fps and go with 3d facial scanning? (of course assuming they have the chops to do so)

I wonder if this pictures of the back of the phone was without Apple logo... will Apple users still like it?

Or unlike Apple who has started s**te with all other manufacturers, Android OEMs will incorporate under the screen FP tech and still have everything. Just like every Android OEM didn't ditch headphone jacks or add force touch to their phones, they will likely not follow Apple and their fans into stupidity.

U mean like motorola, htc, xiaomi and u mean like huawei and samsung with their force touch home bottons? Btw, even the note 8 is going to be having it soon and i will be here to see what will be your excuse.

Banks it's safe to say now almost every Android smartphone right down to the sub $200 priced ones will get fingerprint scanners. As far as facial scanning is concerned, every Android has had that option for years. You just had to enable it on Android. More like let's hope that Apple adds a higher resolution display to their iPhone 7s, because a number of $200 Android smartphones already offer full HD displays (1920x1080). If Apple still uses the low resolution HD display for their 2017 iPhone 7s, then we know it's for 1) a cash cow rip off. 2) it's for benchmark bragging rights. There is no excuse for still using a low resolution display in 2017, especially for a smartphone that will cost $650. Talk about a rip off.

No, it's always been there in screen lock options. I think you're triggered for some reason. No OEM has force-touch home buttons. In fact Motorola, HTC, Huawei, etc. have been giving capacitive home buttons which you don't have to press, just like Apple did with the iPhone 7 series, they just added a pressure sensor (i still don't get the need) and haptic feedback (which every other OEM already had).

So the iphone 8 will have the highest screen to body ratio of all time? and will do away with fps recognition permanently for 3D recognition? Wow, what a time to be alive. This just keep getting more and more exciting as the days go by. Just take my money already apple.

So first you were all praise of the FPS under the screen and now you are excited it's gone entirely?

Yes, because its a more audacious move. It just goes to show how advanced and reliable the 3d scanners are. 3d facial recognition with hidden infrared emitters capable of 3d sensing and depth measurement is just mindblowing.

Guess your mind is easily blown then. It's courage eh ;)

That implies iFans like you have minds to get blown. I mean at this point Apple is just selling you last years phone with fewer features (no headphone jack last time, no FPS this time, no screen next time, no Phone the year after (just pay them money to use the current one)).

Why make it personal like that?

Homes, you said the screen FPS was a "lock". There are about 60 comments from you stating that. You said every one is racing to do it but Apple will be first and everyone else will follow and copy because Apple is the only one capable. The best thing about Apple fans is that you have no principles. Whichever way Apple sends you, you go. There are still Samsung fans upset about removable batteries and IR blasters. Apple fans however, "screen to body ratio will be important tomorrow, but not today." "File Managers are important today, but not yesterday." If Apple does it , it's great, if not, it's a gimmick. Well, I guess that's a principle. But, that is the Principle of the Sheep.

Dude, nothing is confirmed yet as it's just all rumors, and how the hell you can tell is 'advanced and reliable" when there is yet one video that shows this rumored feature working on the iPhone 8?

this just proves how idiot he is to consider a "rumor" as a reliable source, thank god this rumor ditched the under screen fps, as he will no longer keep repeating this sh*t anymore haha.

That's weak. The whole complaint about the FP on the back is you have to pick up the phone to use it. This is no different.

You have never used a Surface Pro 4 or a Book eh? It is a very capable tech and its also very reliable... I love Windows Hello on my Surface Book however I wouldn't TRADE fingerprint scanner on my phone for facial recognition... because sometimes is simply more practical... (the phone laying down on a table, unlocking while grabbing it from my pocket, having the device docked, etc) In my opinion, Sony's side mounted FPS are the best location (until under the display actually works)

i mean...if samsung cant put a fingerprint sensor on their screen, what makes apple able to do it?

7. Bankz

Posts: 2478; Member since: Apr 08, 2016

Thats the point, apple will raise the bar and do away with the fingerprint tech alltogether and go for their advanced 3d facial recognition, showing how advanced the implementation is, instead of going cheap and putting the fps on the back and in an ugly, akward position.

11. RebelwithoutaClue

But didn't you know from a very reliable source Apple would put the FPS under the screen and it would be the best thing in tech world, blah blah blah?

13. Bankz

Posts: 2478; Member since: Apr 08, 2016

Lmao, butthurt much. When did i ever say that it will be the best thing in tech? Btw, sources from TSMC in the company meeting in tapei has said that the iphone 8 will come with an embedded fps under the screen. Anything but the back imo, as that would just be a new low for apple. Btw whats up with android users and lying? *yuk*

Hahaha you have a weird perception of butthurt. But I am glad you are so pleased with this article. And where did I lie, you have been more than enthusiastic over the FPS under the screen. Ps I use Android, iOS and Windows phone.

Dude, all you've done is cheerlead the under the display FPS since the rumor came out that Apple had it, and Samsung didn't. Now, as soon as it looks like Apple might not be able to achieve it either, you're going in the opposite direction. You've seemed reasonable in the past, but this is pure Apple water carrying.

So if Samsung can't do it no one can right? I don't get your logic

Although, i doubt that the ip8 will have delayed availability. Those are just marketing speak tbh.
