Timely rumor: Apple cuts monthly build of the Apple Watch in half to 1.25 million-1.5 million units

According to a report issued out of China this morning, Apple's plan to build 2.5 million to 3 million units monthly of the Apple Watch has turned out to be too ambitious a goal. Part of the reason stems from the lower than expected yield seen on the production of the display by LG. Due to the use of plastic instead of glass, manufacturing the plastic OLED screen has been more difficult than hoped with yields approaching a range of 30%-40%...

actually it's more like 2 years worth sales of all the galaxy gears will get beat in a few months. sorry samsung fans , the real fail is the galaxy gear lineup with tizen B.S. watch Apple smash the galaxy gears this year. and android wear crush it sub sequently. my prediction samsung goes back to Android wear next time, to compete with real software not korean junk software.

No one cares about sales figures. Only Apple fans for some reason care about sales. Why do you care about sales? I am curious. Not a single Android, or iPhone owner walks into a phone shop and says "OMG IT'S THE ONE THAT SOLD THE MOST IN 7 DAYS GAHHHHH OMFG GIMMEGIMMEGIMME"

Dumbness, yeah, cuz people who buy Apple stuff are kinda dumb. Proof? They are about to sell a $700 smartwatch to you, which does no more than a $200 Android Wear watch which looks nicer.... Market share, never see it mentioned, unless an Apple user says "Yeah, Apple did better" Then someone will say "Samsung is killing Apple in shares." And then Apple people cry for some reason cuz they just realise they can't high five their iPhones together with more people.... Which would be useless, since the NFC in their phones doesn't actually allow data transfer techniques cuz Apple makes sense.

Just make two, for me and my wife, and I'm good. 42mm and a 38mm, they'll sell well.

No need to rush Apple, 69% of American's aren't even interested. Though 30% is still a huge number consider the US has 350M citizens. That still translates to millions of sales. I just don't see them selling any more than a few million. Samsung has been accused of throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks, yet smart watches are exactly that. People want to carry one device. I use to carry and iPod for the games/music and a smartphone for everything else. Then I decided to just go ahead an get an iPhone at the time. Having a watch that repeats the same functions as your phone, and doesn't even work without the phone seems wasteful and I am speaking from experience. I purchased the original Gear, tho I liked the device and the concept, it was boring. It didn't offr anything the phone didn't do already. I sold it just days after I received it. I now have he Gear S, though again it repeats the functions of my smartphone, it being a phone itself is a nice option because now when I ride or if I leave my phone at home, which I do; I don't have to go back and get it and I know I will still get my calls and I have my health stuff too. Maybe this stall in production is a early sign.
