Tim Cook: Stop drinking that expensive coffee and you'll be able to afford an iPhone X

While some consumers might be turned off by the price of the Apple iPhone X ($99 for 64GB, $1,149 for 256GB), Apple CEO Tim Cook makes it sound within reach for many. Cook says that the iPhone X can be found priced at $33 a month using an installment plan. The executive says that this is cheaper than buying a coffee at "at one of these nice coffee places." He also pointed out that iPhone X buyers can save as much as $350 by trading in their current iPhone model...

You are right, it is true, but he has no right telling people not to buy something just so they can buy a over priced phone.

I know it's true and yeah I agree with you it's dumb as hell that he said this, makes him look like an asshole and comes off bad

Most of the people don't know how to manage their own finances (that's a reality), so giving them a mean to obtain a goal is not at all dumb.

It is easier to live without iPhone X than the habitual coffee.

IPhone is a phone, so - having that in mind - one can say it's easier to live withbdrinkimg cheap coffee than to live without a phone.

Sorry Tim, I can live without your expensive iPhone, but not without my "dear" daily coffee: so you know what, I keep going on with my excellent hTC 10!

$1000 and they couldnt put a pair of Beats X in the box to go with? Sammy buys HK and right after the S8 comes boxed with premium headphones. Got a chance to see the device at the store. In persin the device is shiny and cool. But for $1150, everything in the box should be premium, not just the phone. All the money they ahve they need to do more after 10 years of auppprt. Tbey could have gave a promo with pair of Airpods or choose a Beats X + charging Pad. $250B and they dont give nothing. Other OEMs give far more benefits. Its a $800 phone at best, as the same for the Note 8 should have been $850 max. The display is vibrant, and looks as good as the S7 edge display but brighter. Felt small having a Note 8. Way better than the 8 for sure. But i openned some apps and rhats when my experince deteriorated. Tried some gestures. I dont want to do that many everyday. Its ruins the ease of usage. I spent 20 mins with it and i wall away with a 50/50 opinion. I think getring an 8,7 or 6 cheaper is a better option. Played with AR a bit. Same impression i got with Samsung VR. Not for me. Didnt like the Amoji thing at all. Muaic soinds good in the speakers, but headphonesare always gonna be better due to getting rid of outside noise. I didnt hear any bass. It just spunds like a lpuder pop. For the design, they coukd have went bigger at 6", wapecially for $1000. Should have been 128GB, not $64, since you cant add storage. Apple could have included 1TB of iCloud to buyers which they can implement for pennies on a dollar. I will pass on it. There no better review than checking it out. I could never get use to an obstructed view. I rather deal with the note 8 cutring off the. Small area at th3 top and bottom vs having stuff block. What good is making the display more obvious, when i have to shrink stuff down to prevent it being blocked. Its just dumb. Terrible move. But people just smiling like they are holding a bar of gold.

He has to stop saying what ppl actually should do, by the next iphone, we will have to stop pooping, not to use any toilet paper to afford a phone.Sorry Cook, you are a real jerk.

The phone became a necessity, the coffee is just a vice. Getting read of a vice to get a good device that covers a necessity is a smart thing to do and a great advice most of mediocre people can get from smart people like Cook.

So a £1000 phone is a necessity? A phone may be a necessity for some but the vast majority of people are only using them for facebook, texting, youtube etc. Nothing a £100 phone can't do perfectly well. At the end of the day it's nothing but a fashion accessory marketed at insecure millenials who have to have thier shiney jewelry.

He included rendering on speed test, as expected from apple shill :v Something I find interesting in that video - how many times he fail to perform gesture - Iris scanner work faster 100% accurate, compared to iPhoneX facial scanner that noticeably slower and did fail once)

On the other hand, don't buy that iPhone, and you can afford more expensive coffees.

there Goes Cook again, telling Apple customers what else they need to go without. He’s so used to taking stuff away, that he’s now dictating their dietary habits smh

Typical out of touch Senior Executive. He is so like all the other CEO's that he can't see for the forest for the trees. He's garbage like them all.

Apple's whole concept seems to be to treat their customers with contempt. The man is delusional.

iPhone X is highly overrated crap. What's so special about AMOLED that now that Apple has it Apple users love it? It's not even the best AMOLED display... iPhone 8 is a much better buy and it has TouchID. Win

No. Galaxy phones have been using AMOLED for ages. Apple is playing catch up.
