Tim Cook: Stop drinking that expensive coffee and you'll be able to afford an iPhone X

While some consumers might be turned off by the price of the Apple iPhone X ($99 for 64GB, $1,149 for 256GB), Apple CEO Tim Cook makes it sound within reach for many. Cook says that the iPhone X can be found priced at $33 a month using an installment plan. The executive says that this is cheaper than buying a coffee at "at one of these nice coffee places." He also pointed out that iPhone X buyers can save as much as $350 by trading in their current iPhone model...

The price is a turn off but If I wanted it I could get it easy.

The price is only shocking in the "a THOUSAND!!" sense. It's not much more than, say, a Note 8 or a 128 GB Pixel 2 XL. And most buyers won't notice the increase in an installment plan.

And Tim Cook basically says people should give up what constitutes their diet in other to afford the IPhone X? Whatever.

If you want something badly enough, you'll figure out a way to get it. And it's not like he's telling everyone they must get an iPhone X instead of an 8.

And I'm here like...why don't people save money instead of buying an overpriced device which a $500 device can easily match in day to day scenario and enjoy coffee with the rest??

Tim Cook and friends are drinking too much of that Apple Koolaid, and want everyone else to drink the same Koolaid that they are drinking.

IMO, that's a poor comparison. Look at the difference in screen size. They are bigger phones compared to the X. The X should be compared with the Pixel 2 and S8.

What Tim Cook said can only appeal to naive people. The phone still costs $1000 and with this sum you can do a whole lot of other very valuable things.

Yep they can. But only Apple fans will fight you tooth and nail to justify paying more for less. When you have more and you get it for less, you've already won the battle, so there is nothing to argue. Looking at a video showing Just because you are buying with your own money, it doesn't make the purchase any more or less foolish though.

Tim Cook, find a way to engineer away that ugly notch and I would think about buying one.

Lol is he serious? How about just make a reasonably priced phone you don't have to baby and guard with cases and bumper guards and doesn't allow you to expand your own storage and have to buy a separate fast charging brick for or plug in headphones without the need for dongles?

They do, it's called the iPhone SE and iPhone 6S

Neither have expandable storage but they do hit my other points.

You can get all the storage you need in the cloud.

Yes but still, it limited the options.

It's also limiting, because there's no BluRay drive...

I have bought a iPhone X and so far I like it a lot. Have not even had it for 24 hours yet. So far Face ID is Perfact and the notch is actually kind of what I thought. It is a place to hide information that i would not want on the main screen so I really like it. Next year if they came out with a plus’s version I would upgrade but only if I could get a bigger screen. I can handle a iPhone plus size so if you fill that size with a screen I would love it.

Perfect click and bait article when the video doesn't have Tim cook actually saying this.

Mr.Cook, please stop overpricing your products, then everyone can purchase it, without compromising with their eating, drinking, or sleeping habits.......

Then, his profit margins would decrease. Unfortunately, his concern as CEO is to shareholders and not "everyone". Apple has never pretended to be a charity.

T-Mobile is $30 a month for the phone. Do your research or hire me to write these articles.

Actually, that includes a rather pricey down payment which is why I didn't include it. So that people like you don't get confused by the context (and I mean that sincerely, not as an insult), I removed the reference to it in the story. regards, Alan F.

Bruh that is the dumbest thing he can say even if I admit is partially true...I myself can spend up to $10-15 a day on Starbucks coffee sometimes, but a really dumb thing to say by Cook Yes I am completly addicted to caffeine
