This Tuesday we will learn when the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will be unveiled
A tweet disseminated today by OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau states that the company will announce the date of its next new product announcement on Tuesday, April 23rd. The message from the executive reads, "Stay tuned next Tuesday for our launch event announcement." It appears that we will see three new handsets introduced at that event, the OnePlus 7, the OnePlus 7 Pro and a 5G variant of the latter.

The Pro variant of the One Plus 7 is expected to be equipped with a notchless 6.64-inch Super AMOLED curved display. Unlike all previous OnePlus models that featured a 1080p resolution, the OnePlus 7 Pro screen could come with a 1440p resolution (QHD+) with a faster 90Hz display refresh rate. The displays on most regular phones refresh at 60Hz. The OnePlus 7 Pro should also sport a pop-up selfie camera with a triple-camera setup in the rear. The latter will include a 48MP primary sensor, a telephoto lens, and a wide-angle lens. A 4000mAh battery will have the job of keeping the device's lights on. There is talk that the OnePlus 7 Pro will employ the zippy 30W Warp Charge technology that was used with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. A 5G version of the OnePlus 7 Pro will also be offered in certain markets. Unfortunately, the U.S. will not be one of them.

The basic OnePlus 7 could carry a 6.4-inch 1080p flat screen with a waterdrop notch. Both the basic model and the Pro version should be powered by the Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform with various configurations of memory and storage available. And both are expected to be equipped with stereo speakers. The basic model will also include a dual-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor and possibly a depth sensor. The phone will feature a 3700mAh battery. Both units will be pre-installed with the latest version of OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie.

The OnePlus 7 could be offered by all four major U.S. carriers

Next Tuesday, we expect to hear that OnePlus will hold its new product event on May 14th. As we told you earlier today, job listings published by OnePlus would seem to indicate that all four major U.S. carriers will be offering the OnePlus 7. Last year, with the OnePlus 6T, T-Mobile became the first U.S. carrier to offer a handset from the manufacturer. While the phone represented only 2.4% of T-Mobile's phone sales during the fourth quarter of 2018, OnePlus was still the fifth most popular premium handset brand in the U.S. during that time period.

OnePlus has certainly come a long way in five short years. The OnePlus One was unveiled in April 2014 and at first, it was available by invitation only. The company did this in order to match supply with demand. Since then, OnePlus has grown substantially thanks to its policy of selling flagship phones at a lower price. The OnePlus 6T is currently available from T-Mobile for $550 (or 24 monthly payments of $22.92) and includes features you might see on phones costing hundreds of dollars more, like an in-display fingerprint scanner, 8GB of memory, and an AMOLED display protected by the latest version of Gorilla Glass.

As far as pricing of the new models is concerned, the OnePlus 7 could cost $549-$599 while the 4G Pro model could be priced in a range between $699-$749. As for the 5G version of the OnePlus 7 Pro (which again, won't be offered in the states), we could see the device cost $849-$899.
