This Google Nexus 6 concept has a 5.7-inch display and HTC style

While HTC will most likely not be the maker of Google's next Nexus smartphone, it's still fun to look at this concept design...

If that statement does even make sense, we'll see a 100" phone in 2099.

To Taters, fzacek, & refillable: I never said the growth would go on forever. My simple point was that every flagship from every single OEM has had an increase in screen size this year. It would be naive to think that Google wouldn't do the same thing to keep up. Eventually, phones will have to stop growing, sure, but this is not the year that happens.

The Logic is, even though that is the trend today, Ergonomically, that trend is not in the right path. For One handed usage, The S5 size is the ergonomical max for an average Joe. Although I am pretty sure that the Nexus 6 is not going to be far off the S5's size. You are stating that the next nexuses are going to be seemingly following that trend. Google should be able to easily address this problem. PS. Late reply caused by PA's broken Notification system.

One handed use should not be a design requirement of a phone. There is no "problem" for google to address.

so they expect the phone coming sometime this year while using SoC that will only come out early 2015 at the earliest?

This is awesome. Love the Nexus line, but I doubt the Nexus 6 will be anything like this. The Nexus line always has too many compromises it seems to keep price down. Bad camera, bad speakers, no LTE, small non-removable battery, no microsd. Each version had some major letdown. The closest thing to actual high-end and low cost right now is the OnePlus it seems. Sadly it has an invitation system and isn't widely available until late June.

At first glance, that's what I thought too but no. Look at the other colours, for example.

it looks good as a concept, but i wonder how HTC would fit all that circuitry inside a phone with so little bezel. I'm sure they would have done it with the One had it been possible. There always difference between concept created by graphic designers and an actual product made by engineers.

From the teardowns I've seen, bezels are quite empty I don't think it will be a problem

I really believe that the next nexus will be made by sony. From the first android consortium (HTC, Samsung, LG and Sony), only sony does not have a nexus, while the others have two sequential nexus phones (considering the HTC Magic as a 'first' nexus phone). And the xperia line up is really good, and Sony deserves it. Nice concept btw, but 5.7 will not be Nexus 6 because its a phablet, not a phone. I belive that will still be called nexus 5, just like nexus 7 keeps its name.

Only LG can pull off that kind of bezels.

Too little bezel to be HTC. Jokes aside it looks more like an LG design besides the earpiece/mic

I hope the next Nexus is not that big. The Nexus 5 was the perfect size.

Lol good one. HTC would never make bezels that small and symmetrical. Not even their USB port is centred properly.

Why did they make the nexus 5 look hella fake?

I'll take two. I figured it'd be the S805, knew about rumored S810 and wouldn't mind at all if it has either. This may be last Nexus, and to my collection she'll go with the rest.

If battery life will be as terrible as it was with all previous Nexus phones this thing will be completely useless to me! I really can't understand the hype about the phone that lasts for half a day...

Android is not the best candidate for long battery life... Actually its not that much off from iOS either. It depends on usage, but the Nexus did not have a noticeable difference from my other Android phones. My Windows Phones on the other had, that is another question. People bash on it a lot, but I get a whole lotta work done on my Lumia 925 and the battery lasts longer than most of my previous modern phones.

I hope this is just a concept. Way too large. I'll put it in my collection of Nexus devices (right now, the only Nexus devices I'm lacking are the 2013 Nexus 7, and the Nexus 4), but I'd just leave it in the box, and never use it. I can't wait for the tipping point, and phones get back to a more manageable size.

Wow, this is the few concept which is logical. Although I doubt that it's going to be convinient when operated by only one hand (especially for people who wear 8.5 sized gloves like me).
