The world's most and least compact flagships relative to their screen size

For this pick, we set out to measure the screen-to-body ratio of pretty much every flagship we could think of, from mainstream brands, down to ones that are still fighting for recognition on the world stage. What's more, we ranked them by just how much 'bang for your inch' you get. A totally new category, we know. So, without any further ado, let us show you the world's most compact flagships relative to their screen size!...

Lol this is why HTC and Nokia suck ass. They sacrifice size like its a non factor. It is called a MOBILE phone.

Look at this bezels of Sharp. I liked it, but I prefer rounded corners.

There should be any way to separate phones with on and off screen buttons, because on screen buttons make a big part of the screen "useless" on the other way, if you get the S5, the bottom bezel is just for the buttons, which make it very "compact"

Have you heard of immersive mode on Android? These are flagships btw, they probably have theirs. Bezels exists so that users have a place to hold on the screen. Like in gaming, the big bezels on the top and bottom when put on landscape mode it'll have a place to rest your hands with. In reading too, side bezels eliminate accidental touch on the edges, thus no accidental scrolling especially reading ebooks. Eliminating bezels may leave users unexpected touches on the edge of the screen. Bezels are not bad.

Imersive mode? yes, and you use it how often? like 5% of the time? because the remaining 95% you use to play games, surf the web, and when you are on every single app that doesnt belong to google doesnt have this feature

It's not just about availability of immersive mode, we use system buttons a lot and if every time you want to press back button or change apps you have to get in or out of the immersive mode before do that it will be a pain in the ass

Most games are very suitable to use immersive mode and a lot of them do already. And more apps than just from Google use immersive mode. Also I use immersive mode 99% of the time. I'm running PA rom and just use the pie controls with forced immersive mode

When you start to go over 5 inches for me I like to use a phone in landscape mode pretty often. If there is no bezel how do you hold it? So my current Sony Xperia Z Ultra has large top and bottom/left and right bezels but they are needed. How about a real life use test?

This article just screams HTC One M8 inefficient size... That's probably the reason why PA wrote this article.

Even though iPhone is the king of bezel, it maintains the ratio of 1:1.618, which is considered a divine number, especially in design.

How does the nexus 5 get a higher score than the S4? The nexus phone has a bigger footprint if I'm not mistaken. Please explain Chris. P

The S4 is wider.

You forgot (?) the LG G3 with its 76.4% ratio. Needs to be in 2nd place in your list.

It's in the phablet category, which is being updated right now.

The S4 was actually really well designed. The S5 dropped the ball but so did every other phone upgrade this year, especially the iPhone 6.

Especially since it hasn't been released yet right? Many people I know still carry iPhone 4 and 4S still. This upgrade cycle will be huge. Google never developed a well advertised and easy solution to importing an iTunes library. Now Android loses its only advantage perceivable by the most average consumers: Screen Size. The 5C outsold the S5 for a sizable portion of the year world wide.

You guys do realize that eventually all Android devices will be exactly the same right? The whole Android market is moving towards cheap off-the-shelf processors to reduce cost and big screens with less bezel. How will the brands differentiate when all devices are just big bezeless screens? Enjoy your Custom Skins.
