The most bezel-less phone in the world goes official: Manufacturers, take notes from the Vivo NEX

The quest for coming up with the ultimate bezel-less device has bore tons of fruit already. Devices like the iPhone X, Galaxy S9/S9+, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2/2s, Essential Phone, OnePlus 6, LG G7, and many, many others broke past the once unachievable screen-to-body ratio metric of over 80%, but it doesn't seem like this is enough. It would seem that neither the industry nor the enormous consumer base will be satisfied until we receive phone that are all-screen up front, usability be damned...

I admit it, this is how a nex-gen phone should look like. But I just hate those Chinese-style misleading pictures that hide the chin. Not one full-frontal picture !

iPhone X does that better. Probably it's the only smartphone next to this having least bezel

What are you talking about. The s9+ has more screen to body then the X. X 81.43 S9+ 84.2

the topic is chin, not percentage of screen to body. Edge display is unfair to compare.

To do what? Nobody uses that edge. Design like in iPhone X is much useful than those gimmicky edges. At one point Sammy's gonna copy also the great stuff my iPhone X

By looking at your picture, you're obviously a member of the iSheep herd. Take your biased comments elsewhere.

It doesn't do anything better, it has bigger bezels all around and a big ass notch too. It's a terrible design.

Nope. It has a lower screen to body ratio than any of Samsung's current flagships, and has an even lower usable screen when you subtract the horns.

You do realize that the Essential phone has just a small cutout right in the middle and nobody gives these guys any credit. The Essential phone is a real phone you can buy right now and not for a lot of money that's the most bezel-less option we have available. I for one don't care about this disappearing bezel trend.

Samsung pales in comparison to this awesome innovative phone. This has all the next gen features, hope Samsung copies all of them in their S10 phone next year....lol

Which means the iPhone isn't even a blip on this phones radar, since the iPhone pakes in comparison to the S9 and Note 8.

Cross your fingers that they used the top-quality amoled batch. Vivo nex might have better battery life than oneplus 6 and asus rog phone.

"We just made the world's first truly bezeless smartphone, but we still have to imitate the iPhone X's frame and camera cutout... can't help it, sorry"

how did they imitate anyone's cutout? there literally is NO cutout, it just pops out of the top. go be a fanboy on another website

Rear camera, bruh.

Tbh, any camera setup on the rear is going to be seen as a copy of another device. Vertical in the corner copies iPhone X, horizontal in the corner copies iPhone 8 Plus, horizontal in the center copies Galaxy Note 8/LG G7 ThinQ, vertical in the center copies OP6. Unless a manufacturer places the cameras in two different locations, it's always going to be copying somebody else

Is there anything in this world that you don't believe we stolen from Apple? Just curious.

I've been using Sony phones since forever, never had an iPhone. I'm just laying forth the facts; lots of manufacturers copy Apple's design, and everyone is fond of the shape of the X's camera for some reason. Vivo has done something remarkable here, they could've had a unique design, along with what they achieved.

You are actually accusing Vivo of "copying iphone x's frame". That is ridiculous.

"Is there anything in this world that you don't believe we stolen from Apple? Just curious." Yes, of course. 91.24% screen-to-body ratio without ugly notch, 4000 mah battery, Fast charging, Under the display fingerprint scanner, Pop-up selfi camera tech.
