Why do you care so much about Samsung's profits and how many phones they sell?

Oozz009 I guess your impressed with how Apple likes to tell people that they are getting the latest high tech specs in their iPhones. When in reality they are selling you mid range specs at flagship prices. You can get mid range Android devices at a fraction of the price of an iPhone and that Android device will have a better screen, camera, ram, and storage. Apple is a joke these days.

I would love that to be true sgosell but that is simply ain't the case, go check a Samsung S7 vs iPhone 6S or any other flagship and you will see that the flagship iPhone is just as fast and faster even in some areas thanks to its better optimized OS. The same is true with the desing, camera and feautures. It's only in screen that it's lacking but only in resolution and not in quality. But i do agree that you can get better deals for the money with android, however you get rubbishy support with android phones which will force you to change sooner rather than later (it happened to me too) but since I been using an iPhone I barely don't even feel the need to change as often anymore which is something I like! Trust me thought, had things been different I would had stuck with Sony but I know all to well that android won't change on its negatives anytime soon so I don't see why bother:D

The 14 million in 2nd quarter is impressive when you consider that Samsung has to compete against dozens of OEMs that use android. Apple is the only one with IOS so the iPhone has no competition.

Galaxy S7 doesn't offer much extra and is too expensive with decent contracts. Many coming to the end of their contracts this year are buying the S6 and not the S7, would be interesting to see a full breakdown for sales per device.

The article clearly states that it's due to GS7 phones. I don't understand who in their right mind would get a GS6, yeah its $100 less but it offers less; no sd or water proofing which is what angered Samsung fans about the GS6. They predicted underwhelming sales for it and it came to pass.

If you can't figure out why somebody would buy a Galaxy S6 now then you're an idiot. Not everyone can afford to buy latest and greatest, as a result last generation devices continue to sell well as users get better deals. No, what it clearly says is "The commercial success of the Galaxy S7 series is boosting Samsung's operating profits" Of course it is but there are a lot of other devices and hardware Samsung sell contributing to this.
