The budget-friendly Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) starts getting Android 8.0 Oreo
The last time we reported about the Galaxy J3 (2017), we informed you that Samsung has decided to delay the Android 8.0 Oreo rollout for this specific device until September. Although that piece of information might still be accurate, it's worth noting that Samsung has already started to push out the Oreo update to the Galaxy J3 (2017).

However, this seems rather a limited deployment since the update has only been spotted in Russia and the United Arab Emirates. Even so, if nothing wrong happens or no major issues are discovered during the testing, we expect Samsung to start rolling out the update to more countries in the coming weeks.

As a matter fact, the September timeframe might still be valid since testing a new Android OS update usually takes up to a month. In any case, it's worth mentioning that the update contains the June security patch and it's been tagged as firmware version J330FXXU3BGH1 in Russia, and J330FXWU3BRG3 in the UAE.

Along with the Galaxy J3 (2017), two other smartphones should have been updated around the same time – Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 (2017), but if you have the latter, you'll probably have to wait until December.
