Oppo Find X teaser hints at 5x lossless zoom support
Oppo has already confirmed that its first flagship since 2014, the Find X, will see an official announcement in Paris on June 19. And now, in the latest official teaser, it appears the company may be hinting at the nature of the smartphone's dual camera setup.

The teaser in question includes an image of a man looking towards the sky at night through a telescope, suggesting the Find X may include a secondary telephoto lens. If this is the case, it certainly wouldn’t be surprising. After all, the low-cost Chinese brand has previously showcased a dual camera setup that featured an OIS-enabled telephoto lens alongside a second wide-angle sensor. Together, these were then capable of achieving 5x lossless zoom, thus suggesting the Find X could possibly include the feature. Nevertheless, there is an alternative that Oppo could be referencing.

See, aside from the image, the poster is also accompanied by the phrase “Focus on the sky and the universe to unlock it.” It’s presently unclear why Oppo would have included that message on the poster, but it could be a reference to a potential face scanning feature. In recent times face unlock has become extremely popular among Android devices due to Face ID on the iPhone X. However, unlock Apple’s variant which uses 3D facial scanning technology to ensure a high level of security, Android devices simply rely on the selfie camera, the only exception being Xiaomi’s Mi 8

It’s certainly possible that Oppo may have developed a Face ID-rivalling technology by now, but taking into considering the relatively small notch that has been seen in recent Find X renders, it would likely be impossible to fit the technology on the device, therefore suggesting that the Find X may simply offer a Face unlock feature akin to the OnePlus 6.
