The LG G6 will officially use the Snapdragon 821 instead of the 835, and it's a brilliant move

Although the possibility of the LG G6 featuring a Snapdragon 835 processor was already quite slim, it's now officially confirmed that it'll be powered by the slightly less powerful Snapdragon 821...

And having a battery that is way too small.

RIP indeed, there's nothing good about buying a new flagship phone and spending all that money when it uses old technology, while the rest uses the latest and greatest. Samsung can easily survive using old technology, but not dying companies like LG,HTC or Sony.

First of all, chill. Secondly yes RIP LG they always do this ignorance and wonder why they can't sell 1/10th of what Sammy does. Bad decisions. Use common sense here. Your comment is blatantly stupid and ignorant. Have you not a brain to see the mess they've done past 3 years? This year is no different. I'll see how many white knights come to save you.

"First of all, chill.", No I won't chill, don't like what I have to comment, keep scrolling, no one's stopping you but yourself. "Secondly yes RIP LG they always do this ignorance and wonder why they can't sell 1/10th of what Sammy does. Bad decisions. Use common sense here.", how about you use common sense here, LG has never been able to sell 1/10th of what Samsung does unfortunately, but they are still on the market, so how is it RIP LG? Sure they may not garner alot of sales, but they still get profit, and the ONLY reason Samsung gets way more sales than LG (or any OEM for that matter) is marketing, marketing doesn't mean their products are better than its competitors, they just have more advertising revenue to push out than the others. "Your comment is blatantly stupid and ignorant. Have you not a brain to see the mess they've done past 3 years? This year is no different. I'll see how many white knights come to save you." Actually your comment is not only blatantly stupid, it's premature as well (I'll explain the premature part later), and yes I obviously have a brain otherwise I wouldn't be able to convey my thoughts let alone see what is being commented seeing that our eyes are connected to the brain through the optic nerve, I've seen what LG has done in the past years (I've been a victim of the G4 bootloop, so obviously I am aware), Same can be said about Samsung (their no Saint), exploding Note 7 situation, Yep I'm using this one, they assumed they rectified the issue the first recall just to get it back on the market quickly to compete with Apple's iPhone 7/7 Plus, but when there was still reports of this device exploding with the so-called safe Note 7's, they discontinued the device altogether (smart move, but not executed well). Now back to "premature", it's stupid to make an early judgement on a matter because neither of these devices are in consumers hands, nor do any of us know how much they are trying to push the G6 in their marketing, so to sit up here and make statements like "This year is no different." is PREMATURE, unless you foreseen the estate LG will have with the G6. And lastly, The "White Knight" comment was stupid. -_-

I'm not gonna read your exorbitantly long ignorant ass essay. The only thing I will say is bless your heart for taking this matter so seriously. Chill.

"I'm not gonna read your exorbitantly long ignorant ass essay." right, but you go and make an "ignorant ass" of a response such as this one. That's another problem, seems as though some of us don't read much, or have selective reading, and only wanna see what is acceptable in our eyes, reading is fundamental. "The only thing I will say is bless your heart for taking this matter so seriously. Chill." Right back at ya, Quicksword_Phantom, right back at ya.

Hahaha you guy's are so blind aka sheep hey girl's it sounds like LG took your husband lol butthurt. I can wrap my head on why this generation's of techies goes so hard for one brand like they are on the payroll. Lol. One thing I learn on the tech field its to try everything you guy's are so weird

I see no logic with your comment. Why does one person assume when somebody is speaking common sense on a matter or stating an opinion concerning two oems or the state of one, they have to be either on a payroll with one of these Corporations? It makes no sense to me. In the issues of Tech World(not the whole world of issuesas a whole), yes, I take it seriously. My user name is TechGirl90 after all, what did you think my thoughts were going to be about? This is without a doubt one of the stupidest responses I've ever read towards me, "aka sheep hey girl's it sounds like LG took your husband lol butthurt." LOL, do you know about my personal life?? or even my Martial status for that matter? You are an extremely odd individual.

What a bulls**t article! LG, Sony, HTC and others don't have a choice. Samsung did the brilliant move by delay S8 release date, even it was asshole move. Why buy a phone with old SoC when new one are just 1-2 months away?

LG should still relaunch the G6 with the SD835 as soon as possible though. They wouldn't be the first to have the same phone carry two different chips in the same year. They could call it the G6 Pro or something similar.

Imo they should release it together with V30.

The question is, when Is the V30 being released?

So it's a "Brilliant Move" when LG does it but when HTC did it for the Ultra in January it was dragged to s**t for using "an already outdated" processor when the LG6 and S8 would hit the market. Does not compute.

Exactly. LG clearly handed iphonearena a fat check for this bogus article.

If the roles were reversed, Samsung could survive but LG isn't going make it. Playing 2nd fiddle for a third year in a row = doomed. LG has made its name synonymous with coming up short. Not what people want to spend their money on...

what's stupid is when people pay $200 more just for latest CPU, and they can't even feels the difference in daily use.

It's not just CPU, new SoC brings a lot more... But, it's also not 200$, it will be 50$,as always... And that is LG's problem. With 200$ lower prices, i think that they could not just keep existing customers, they could even take some of Samsung's, but with similar price... Not that much.

It still has a chance to be successful. The Z3 launched with the SD801 even though the SD805 was already available, yet it was still very popular.

A real click bait article here. There is nothing brilliant about this. In 2months time there will be a review wishing it had the 835, and hoping the V30 comes with it.

Hahaha mid range spec's already

So that means, most will just wait for the S835 equipped V30. But IMO, I would take the G6 if they have a well-calibrated display and a wide angle camera with more resolution and possibly AF. All other areas seem good to me, as it comes with super thin bezels, IP rating, better built and possibly a much bigger battery (though I'm skeptical in this area)

Most people don't even know what processor is in their phone. To most people even things like color have more to do with buying decision than processor.

Haven't release already know it fait. Another poor year for LG. Release earlier is not brilliant move with older processor as I pretty sure it still costly.

"Based off of Samsung's anticipated sales for the Galaxy S8 during its first few weeks of availability, any OEM that wants to equip its handset with the Snapdragon 835 will have to wait to release it around either late May or early June." Ok, but why? What does Samsung's anticipated sales have to do with Snapdragon 835 availability? Does Samsung own Qualcomm? Did Samsung already buy every available 835 SOC? This article is missing important information.

Actually yeah. samsung did kinda buy every single available 835 soc.

Well they are making them as well as being QC's biggest customer... lol Blame LG for not being a big enough player.
