The Huawei P30 & P30 Pro have just been detailed entirely, cameras included

The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro have already shown up countless times in leaked renders. But now, thanks to the folks over at WinFuture, the full internal and external details of both devices have been revealed.

Huge OLED displays on both smartphones

As reported back in January, both of Huawei’s flagships will hit the market early next month with OLED displays on board. The larger, more expensive Pro variant will adopt a 6.47-inch panel that features curved edges on either side. Rather than using a 3120 x 1440P resolution, though, Huawei has apparently opted for a lower 2340 x 1080p display.

In terms of what the regular Huawei P30 has to offer, this smartphone is reportedly equipped with a slightly smaller 6.1-inch screen. The display maintains the same 2340 x 1080p resolution but, as visible in the renders, ditches the curved edges.

Accompanying the displays in both cases are slim side bezels, a reduced chin, and a small waterdrop-like notch. In the case of the Huawei P30, the latter sits just below an in-ear speaker and is home to a 32-megapixel selfie camera that should support face unlock.

This same sensor is also included on the Huawei P30 Pro. However, there’s no sign of an in-ear speaker on this device. Instead, Huawei appears to have adopted a Sound-on-Display solution which uses a combination of vibrations and bone conduction to produce sound.

The Huawei P30 series will feature some seriously impressive cameras

Taking a look at the rear of these devices, this is where the key differences lie. The Huawei P30 includes an impressive triple-camera layout, while the Huawei P30 Pro throws an extra fourth camera into the mix and also upgrades the other sensors.

Starting with the regular Huawei P30, this smartphone looks set to feature a primary 40-megapixel camera that offers an f/1.8 aperture but no image stabilization. This is the exact same sensor found on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and means low-light performance will be pretty decent.

Accompanying the Huawei P30’s main sensor will seemingly be a 20-megapixel wide-angle camera and an 8-megapixel telephoto alternative that should permit 5x lossless zoom.

The Huawei P30 Pro’s main camera also offers a 40-megapixel resolution, according to today’s leak. But rather than the f/1.8 aperture found on the regular model, it ups it to f/1.6 and bundles in optical image stabilization (OIS).

The added extra means videos shot on the P30 Pro should be drastically smoother than those filmed on its cheaper sibling. Huawei’s built-in Night Mode may also reap the benefits as it relies on long-exposure shots (where steady hands are necessary) to gather moder light (where wider apertures are beneficial).

Like the Huawei P30, the Pro device will also feature a 20-megapixel wide-angle camera alongside a separate zoom one. But instead of relying on the usual telephoto lens, Huawei has equipped the premium model with a new periscope-like zoom system.

Thanks to this, the Huawei P30 Pro will be technically capable of 7.8x optical zoom. But with the help of the company’s software and data, 10x lossless zoom should be achievable. Some examples of this can be seen above in Huawei’s marketing material.

Completing the Huawei P30 Pro’s camera setup will be a Time-of-Flight camera that will improve bokeh imagery by capturing accurate depth data.

Both flagship smartphones include laser autofocus systems and dual-tone LED flashes.

Flagship performance and large batteries

Moving on to the internal aspect of these devices, as expected both will reportedly come equipped with Huawei’s own Kirin 980. This chip was previously found inside the Mate 20 Pro and should provide very decent performance, just don’t expect Galaxy S10-like speed.

The Huawei P30 pairs the processor with a respectable 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable via nanoSD card. The Pro device, on the other hand, maintains the base storage configuration and bumps the RAM count to 8GB. If consumers want more internal storage, though, the P30 Pro should also be available with 256GB or 512GB of storage.

Huawei’s next-gen flagships will reportedly ship with Android 9 Pie and EMUI 9.1 straight out of the box. Single and dual-SIM models are reportedly on the way, and the devices are said to offer IP68 water and dust resistance.

Both smartphones should support 40W SuperCharge fast charging too, although the battery capacities won’t be identical. The Huawei P30 will include a 3,650mAh cell while the Huawei P30 Pro will bump this up to 4,200mAh.

Huawei P30 & P30 Pro announcement and release date

The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro will be officially announced in Paris on March 26, where the devices will be accompanied by the cheaper Huawei P30 Lite.

If the company’s previous practices are anything to go by, pre-orders for the smartphones should kick off immediately after the event. Shipments of the duo should then begin the following week on Friday, April 5.

Pricing and availability information isn’t available at this moment. However, the smartphones should be available in Midnight Black, Breathing Crystal, and Aurora finishes. The Huawei P30 Pro is also expected to land in Sunrise.
