The Home Hub is Google's first smart speaker with a display; arrives next month

Set to be sold under the Google Home Hub branding, the internet giant’s latest smart speaker is set to act as a direct competitor to Amazon’s Echo Show and Lenovo’s Smart Display. This is due to a large 7-inch touchscreen that will be included. As with other Smart Displays, the Home Hub will center around its Google Assistant integration. This means that a variety of tasks can be performed through either the touch interface or via voice commands, whichever is easiest at any given moment. Moreover, when the user isn’t engaging with the assistant, the display panel will default to display basic information such as the weather, traffic data, or even a to-do list.

In addition to these capabilities, Google has also integrated quite a few other features such as the ability to pair the device with security cameras, lights, TVs, and more. Additionally, the Smart Display will work with Google Photos, allowing users to display their photos on the display as a slideshow.

Aside from the display, the Home Hub also includes a rather large speaker on the rear that will presumably provide a significantly improved experience over the current Google Home and Home Mini. 

Currently, it’s unclear how Google will choose to price the Home Hub but once it’s released, users should be able to purchase the device in either Charcoal Gray or the Chalk White color that is depicted in the images.
