The Galaxy A7 (2017) successor will be called Galaxy A8+ (2018) indeed

The Galaxy A7 (2017) successor to be renamed Galaxy A8+ (2018), regulatory filing reveals
Not that we needed any more evidence, but the Bluetooth regulatory files are the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to determining the names of the next Samsung midrangers in the A-line. After approving the Bluetooth 5.0 chippery inside a "Galaxy A8" yesterday, today the database spat out a "Galaxy A8+ (2018)" sidekick.

Given that the Galaxy A7 (2017) is codenamed SM-A720F, and the one you see here is SM-A730F, it's not hard to deduce that its heir won't be called A7 (2018), as usual, but Samsung is indeed switching to a new naming scheme, more in line with the flagship Galaxy S line.

Thus, we are eagerly expecting the specs to go with the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) names, as we already saw that they would sport Samsung's freshest Infinity Design at the front.
