The Eee Phone by Garmin-Asus later this year

GPS device maker Garmin and computer manufacturer ASUS will team up for yet another project, the Eee Phone. According to Yahoo, an Asustek representative has informed that it may actually be announced officially later this year. The handset takes its name from other ASUS products, including the Eee PC netbook series. While we are still waiting to see the nuvifone G60 in action at this year’s MWC expo, the manufacturers are already working on their Eee Phone, which will be a low-cost smartphone that, according to some rumors, will run Google’s open-source operating system, Android. What’s interesting about that device is that it is said to give you the opportunity to operate remotely with other household electronic devices, but beyond that, no other information is available.
