The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game arrives this April

It looks like Gameloft is going to release a premium sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man game sometime in April. The company released an official trailer for the upcoming title, and as you may have already guessed, it will be dubbed The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The game will be a tie-in of the eponymous Marvel movie, which is due to hit theaters on May 2.

Gameloft's upcoming title about Spider-Man will be quite similar to its predecessor in terms of gameplay, which means that it will be an open-world action game, set in a three-dimensional Manhattan. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will most likely arrive with a greatly improved graphical set.

Of course, being an open-world title, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 won't require players to follow the storyline strictly. Players will be able to just swing around and punish common street thugs. Still, if they decide to follow along with the story missions, they will stand up to the Green Goblin and Electro. In addition, Peter Parker's arachnid alter-ego will have to fight more than 50 other iconic villains from the Marvel universe.

Gameloft will simultaneously release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone devices in April. Feature phone users, don't worry – a version of the game will be available for some of you, too!
