0. phoneArena posted on 06 Aug 2014, 16:46

Apple has often talked about how popular iPads are in the education market, but it is looking like that may be changing. A new trend is showing that schools and teachers are deciding to ditch iPads and are choosing Chromebooks instead. Teachers are even saying that Chromebooks are "much more useful" than iPads...

iPads aren't really that useful. It's just good for gaming but the productivity side is really low. I can do far more on my smartphone than the iPad

Can't wait for an update to the Toshiba chromebook, if they can get a higher res screen in that machine at the same price i'd say its the best chromebook out other than the pixel.

I bought my first chromebook about a month ago and it's more useful than I thought it would be. I was under the impression that it had to be connected to the Internet in order to do anything but that's not the case at all. If it had a higher resolution screen I would replace my windows laptop with it.

A chromebook is useless without internet connection.

There are actually quite a good amount of Chrome Apps that work offline.

I thought the teachers disliked ipads because students wasted too much time on playing videogames

This time next year well be reading how should are turning in chromebooks for entry-level Windows convertibles because they've found the limitations of chromebooks/boxes are the dame as apple tablets: They've not full computers, don't run full office, and OneDrive whips gCloud all day long.

IPad is more of a shiny, bright, metal clad larger IPod (and way overpriced for the value it offers) which is no doubt highly sought after for games rather than productive use. It's good to see some better options coming up at a lesser price.
