Not to be confused with the upcoming Cupcake upgrade, this week T-Mobile is starting to roll-out an OTA update to G1 users. What the carrier is calling a "maintenance release (1.1 R33)" will be available to all of its G1 customers over two weeks. The release will add new features and update software on the device, which is currently the only phone
in the market that runs on Google's open source Android OS. One feature rumored to be on the update is the Google voice search. New G1 purchasers are expected to receive the update three days after buying the device.
