Surface Go tablets with LTE connectivity now available for pre-order in the U.S. and Canada

Back in July, when Microsoft unveiled its Apple iPad competitor, the Surface Go, the only models offered were those that support Wi-Fi connectivity. For those who would prefer to have their Surface Go slate feature LTE (cellular) connectivity, we have some good news. Starting today, Microsoft is taking pre-orders on the LTE models of the Surface Go.

Adding cellular connectivity to the tablets increases the price by $130 over the Wi-Fi only units. For example, $679 (or 24 monthly payments of $24.99) will buy you the consumer variant of the device with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD storage and Windows 10 Home pre-installed. Enterprise users can get the same model with Windows 10 Pro installed for $729, or get Windows 10 Pro and a bump to 256GB SSD storage for $829.

The LTE model weighs a bit more and includes a nano-SIM tray, GPS, and GLONASS positioning. The latter is Russia's version of GPS, which is believed to offer greater accuracy at high latitudes. The cellular model of the Surface Go is said to offer 8.5 hours of video playback, half an hour less than the Wi-Fi only unit.

The Surface Go features a 10-inch screen with a resolution of 1800 x 1200. An 8MP camera adorns the back, and there is a 5MP front-facing selfie shooter. Pre-orders will start shipping in the U.S. and Canada on November 20th, and another 21 markets will be able to order the LTE enabled Surface Go starting on November 22nd.
