They should have posted Microsoft's profit from Android as well. I'll bet Microsoft earns more than most of the other Android OEM's, who barely eek out a living... Nokia will come back, and claim their share of profits too. Wait and see :o`

With Windows 8 & WP8 not doing too good right now, they better hope Google doesn't figure out any work arounds. It's seem Android will be M$ only revenue stream for a couple more years. I think Google should rethink their Chrome OS though. I see a whole lot of frustrated and confused faces looking at new Windows notebooks and desktops. Apple and Google would be smart to present their OSs as a much simpler alternatives, but Chromebooks just as confusing for those who aren't connected 24/7.

this is the reason why nokia didnt go to the android road. every phone company uses the same ecosystem, android. and they only battle for profit in getting people to buy their branded products. samsung will never be beaten in the android world. it will always be on top unless competitors did something that samsung cant. and that people will crave for it. nokia's road is working = profit in WP ecosystem. like samsung = profit in android. hear that? NOKIA WILL NEVER GO ANDROID. cheers

it would be great if nokia began making devices for android samsung would finally have a worthy competitor. they would push each other more to better refine their products. nokia has some great engineers back there. samsung does too. it would be a great race comparing samsung to the other manufacturers in the android camp is like comparing any nfl team to a highschool varsity team.

The HTC ultrapixel was a big fat marketing lie plus they still don't listen to their customers (micro sd...hello?) SONY's TFT screen technology sucks plus they have a knack of putting in some outdated specs in their premium handsets LG takes forever to update their flagships (if ever) Now you wonder why?

no, it was not a marketing lie. ultrapixel is real. but not that great. pureview ois is just better.

50%?! What?! They invest more in R&D than most people not named Nokia combined. That is 50%? Stupid kids these days. Lol

I couldn't care less about their pockets stuffed with money, but where it goes, that's more interesting. Credit for Sammy for investing more the half of it in R&D and education.

Incredible stuff by Samsung, but I do hope Huawei, ZTE, HTC and LG can unsettle them in the future as we do need more fierce competition, we don't want Samsung to dominate and stop innovation.

Samsung innovates as of now so they deserve it. Although you are right, competition drives innovation and we need it.

That's so amazing ! Long live Sammy although it may not last that long if Nokia and Apple pump up their game
