Sproutling is a new wearable for new parents

0. phoneArena posted on 07 Aug 2014, 22:13

We all know that there are a ton of wearables on the way, and usually when we think of wearables, we think about smartwatches, fitness bands, Google Glass, and sleep monitors. We also usually assume that these wearables will be worn by the person getting the use out of it, but that is changing with a new wearable for newborns called Sproutling...

Soon there will be human beings who have monitored by private companies and governments since they were born. Perhaps even before they are born when pregnant mommies get their "Google Fit".

0xFFFF, you have a delicate point here, but I've noticed that you have almost nothing good to say about any tech news...

Like I said, you may have a point, but this is another option that is quite intriguing for those that may want to take advantage of. U dont think that Tech Companies should seize innovating and inventing things because they may potentially lead to a Big Brother Government?

Not pounding on you, just curious if there's something beyond that negative sentiment, that everyone should know...

I dont think it's something I'd let a kid wear all the time, but I can think of a few moments in it's baby life where this would be extremely needed. My daughter got sick, and my wife and I tried to stay up all night just to make sure she doesn't suffocate or get "call 911" sick for a few nights - we are both working parents - accidentally wife and I fell asleep for an hour or two. Nothing bad happened, she got better, but it would absolutely helped to ease our minds if there was an alarm incase of breathing problems, or temperature spike...

If you are a parent, something like this is worth double the price it's offered at for nights like these...

And dont forget, today when a baby is born in the hospital, they attache a "radio transmitting, plastic device" on the leg really tightly (so no one takes it off) that signals if they baby is carried out of the building before it's ready to be released with parents.
