Sprint to launch a local directory service for mobile phones

Sprint Nextel Corp. announced its plans to start offering a local directory service for mobile phones from this coming Monday, in attempt to increase its revenue. The new service, called Find It, will allow subscribers to get an easy access to local information, including driving directions, movie times, nearby restaurants, ATMs, etc. from their mobile phones. Users even don't need to know where exactly they are or what the postal code is. The service uses a combination of a GPS-enabled handset and directory information from InfoSpace Inc. It will be available for a range of Sprint Nextel phones against the subscription fee of $2.99 a month.
